This is the very attitude we need to overcome. If my neighbour is doing wrong, why shouldn't I? Who ever does it, Its our country and environment.

Right. All the poor animals killed have no ecological damage. All the driving and flocking to the church and all the electricity wastage has no ecological damage. All good for nature.

Burials take up land space.Cremation and mingling of ashes in rivers cause air and water pollution.Probably we can follow Ludovic Kennedy's suggestion of burial of corpses in canvas shrouds at sea.

what about Parsi way of dispoal? They leave their deads for big birds to feed. Except bones, everything is consumed in an eco friendly manner.
In Hyderabad devotees were instructed to remove the flower garlands etc before the immersion. It is seen from the TV coverage that the instructions are ignored with impunity.

Festivals is not nuisance, it is the people who make it that way. Shree Ganesh will never care about the size big of the idol, it is only for competition. Years ago ganesh idols were small and made of earth.
Festivals are suppose to unit ppl not compete with the other. another example can be of Dahi handi...
And to our fellow friends who judge the festivals or traditions, consider Malls, loud music, huge music concerts, fuel wastage, Loss Vegas runs on coal, arent we suppose to have more clearner energy or is it mandatory for people to have an expensive gambling or prostitution hub

An idol is worshipped only after "pranaprathishta".After the pooja is completed, the idol ceases to be a deity, therefore immersed. The next pooja can be performed using an idol that has the pranaprathishta performed.
