These buffalos will most probably not understand what Obama will have to say. The dullards will run and jump over the desks with their starched pajamas, lungis and ugly Nehru suits and fall down like undisciplined little school children before breathlessly shaking Obama's hand! Disgraceful people!

Obama versus Bush
by Das on Oct 28, 2010 08:35 PM  | Hide replies

He is unpopular, ineffectual and weak at home and does not have much going for him abroad. He has been dicatated by China, and he from day one has been anti-India on whole range of issues, ranging from Kashmir, backing killer amendment to nuclear deal and much else. Bush genuinely wanted to forge alliance with India, Obama is visiting to get some foreign policy browny points.

George W Bush was damn good for India, the best US President for India. He was a man who was genuinely fond of India and Indians. He took Indo-US relations to a new level. Incidentally, he was and is very popular in India barring some segments of people like the communists, etc.

USA
by J Chandrasekhar on Oct 28, 2010 06:05 PM

USA is never interested in India and it all started with Nehru time, when he trodded the Soviet way. Indira further distanced herself and the country from US withn her me too policy after Nehru

USA if at all shows any concern for India it will be to keep India as its satelite against the emerging power China in the world economics

Pak is definitely getting better deal from both USA and China. But for a useless leadership, the advantage could have really strengthened Pak

WHY THIS LETTER IS A FAKE!
by Kabeer on Oct 28, 2010 04:23 PM  | Hide replies

This letter is a fake!

Minister of Parliamentary affairs knows but this reported doesnt.

MPs are not addressed as Member of Parliament-

Parliament constitutes of 3 wings which not many know and many think it constitutes only 2 wings.

1. Lok Sabha
2. Rajya Sabha
3. President

All three put together constitute Parliament-not just Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Members are always addressed in formal commnication as Member of Lok Sabha or Member of Rajya Sabha. The Word MP is colloquial not formal. The formal word is Member of Lok Sabha or Member of Rajya Sabha.

Besides, you dont request to be kindly present-either you request one to be present or use the expression -kindly be present- usage of request to be kindly - is a double positive and bad English which is not used in official correspondence.

More over, it is not President of United States of America- it is President of THE United States of America.

When you refer to US & UK you always address as The United States or The United Kingdom. Loksabha and Rajyasabha secretariats are well versed with these usages.

do you work there? how do you know.. maybe they forgot how to write?
Or maybe the americans made the invitation for them after seeing the last minute issues with the CWG?
Why are you insisting on "Queen's English" for our Netas? Now we only follow Italian English.

You are bang on, Justnother Individual.

I am now retired.

I worked in Indira Gandhis secretariat when her office was not known as PMO as it is now.

It was a small secretariat unlike the present one; and she was a wonderful person to interact with. She knew all of us intimately and always addressed us by the first name affectionately (though you may think what matters is the subordinate addressing the superior by first name).

Having continued in the PMs secretariat even after her, I can confidently say, she was the last gentleman (forgive me for the inappropriate sounding) to have occupied the PMs office.

No one till date was as gracious and more sagacious and more strong in convictions and courageous than she was.

Her loss is Indias loss and the Indians never know what they had lost; only had she lived for a few more years and in office Indians would not have had this terrorist problem. Alas!

I distinctly remember her secular credentials when she didnt distinguish the religion of her security guards.

Thank you, Mr. Kabeer, for your info about Ms. Indira Gandhi. Yes, I agree with you that if she had been alive, we wouldn't have any terrorist problem today. Too bad, we don't have strong leaders like Ms. Gandhi.

Nice to know that Kabeer. Yes, she was a strong willed woman, made lots of errors in hindsight, but was a figurehead. Great to know from you that she was a nice human being at heart and used to treat her co-workers well. Good Luck Sir, hope India will again find a worthy leader to take on the world!
