Very practical opinion.

India need not stop US aid to Pak. But, the interests of India should be ensured by US. That is that US should ensure that Pak does not use the Military aid and US weapons against India. US should also tell Pak in clear terms that terror as a State strategy is just not acceptable. The percption in India about US will then see a sea change.

On its side, India should also ensure its own internal and external strengths so that it becomes totally independent.

Agreed with Mr Krepton
by andhrarulez on Nov 05, 2010 08:36 AM

I agree with the Mr Krepon. India needs to be more proactive in working with US. After all its the developing countries like India got immensely benifitted with free trade capitalism USA has strongly proposed.
Indian business establishment also has to be prepared to face serious foreign comepetition in Indian market which is not yet fully matured.

US is frustrated because India don't want to allow more then 49%
by Loga on Nov 04, 2010 08:08 PM  | Hide replies

US is frustrated because India don't want to allow more then 49% FDI in below sectors.
America wants India to allow more FDI in defence sector.
America wants India to allow 100% FDI in Retail sector.
America wants India to allow 100% FDI in Real State sector.
Is this bureaucracy or India's Foreign Policy.

India should strengthen relations with Iran, Cuba, Brazil. We should offer the same logic, - it is in US best interests that India has engagement with Iran, Cuba, Brazil so that there is some leverage on these countries.

US vis-a-vis India
by sam kona on Nov 04, 2010 07:50 PM

America comes to an agreement with India and then say Senate is not agreeing come a bit further, then say give US companies immunity from damages. can american system do same to those companies in US, forget about India.

america finance pak and pak inturn finance taliban. taliban terrorises america and india. we can't understand america's self defeating policy.

another thing we observe inspite of publicity stunts during democratic regime, republican regime is more pragmatic in world affairs.

The US is frustrated with Indian bureaucracy
by Sasidharan Nair on Nov 04, 2010 07:29 PM  | Hide replies

Even if people of India are willing to accept what statement is all about, we need answer from the promotors of such US-euphemism as to why US has not been making efforts to build up relationship with India without bias and prejudice? The US was always after India by promoting terrorism through backdoor; and now they are on with the blame game! We, the people as a whole, understand everything. Don't think we are perpetually blurred at your double role; with one heavily-loaded hand fully stretched out to Pakistan and the other empty hand kept waving for India! If US is serious, they should gain our confidence by positive action on many burning issues; with an outright stand!

yes you are right and they are ready to work with pakistan without any condition which is ironic. America is the creator and promotor of terrorists and on another hand they sell arms to each country to combat terrorism. Both ways they gain as they dont have any manufacturing going on america. Everything is shifted to china and now they dont know what to do

No cause for frustration
by DevD on Nov 04, 2010 07:05 PM  | Hide replies

There is no cause for frustration. India and US have jointly worked together to stage the 26/11 massacre. Indian politicians have shown that they willing to kill their own citizens, just as americans killed their own citizens in 9/11. So there is understanding. However US should realize that our politicians will make money through defense deals irrespective of who supplies the weapons. In this context, it is better not to purchase highly expensive, outdated, dysfunctional american weapons. That much patriotism is expected even from Indian politicians. Americans are simply the british in disduise, coming with their begging bowls, in the name of strategic relationshio. They are confirmed terrorists and murderers, and India should avoid them at all costs. Much better to indulge Russia, France and others.
