Is a misnomer in itself. UN is a toothless body mostly made up of developing countries, who send their delegates for a shopping trip to dirty NY. UN has achieved nothing in all these years. No one cares what UN has to say. Instead of begging Chinese to support India for a UN SC seat, India should be telling China npt to dam the Brahmaputra river, and get out of Kashmir chunk occupied by China. This idiot lady (Patil)is a joke. Instead of sending her, India should be sending an army person to talk to the Chinese.

well said! I cant remember even one thing that she's done as a president which is worth remembering..more so, if you contrast her with APJ Abdul Kalam. She is just a parasite who has gotten lucky because her Congress bosses wanted to show how women-friendly they are!

Everyone knows the reality of this world. Just begging like this does help to get UN or by the way any position. To get something you need to show the power. I must say that not only this world but any place in this world is a game of power and who has rule the place.
Show instead of begging like this country by country you should be trying to building and making this country more powerful. Once it will reach that position then in fact they will be welcoming you to take the UN seat.

Why our 'leaders' are pushing the country to such levels of low self esteem and respect that the President of the country is asking for favor from a neighbor who looks down upon us! Ms. Patil could not do so unless she has been advised by the Govt.; this is the darkest blot on the Govt.
