the river Saraswati
by mayank chaube on Oct 21, 2010 03:38 AM

In my opinion river Saraswati is still flowing between the mountains of himalayas. we can see it taking clockwise round of a holy Hindu Temple n vanishes in the mountains. we can distinguish clearly at the juncture where she meet with other river by the noise of Saraswati river. Saints are keeping it secreat where she is !

WHY?, Because of our decay and lack of energy ,interest, not knowing religious, cultural and Practical side of Great ethos of INDIA.

This is the state where INDIA stands stand as of today.

That's why HINDU CULTURE was Planted More than a century a go in US, N&S AMERICA, EUROPE.

We will see Great Scholars of VEDAS, YOGA'S, AYURVEDAS, INCLUDDING TANTRIC SAIVAS will come from "WEST"

To re spark the damp wood of INDIA.

That also with full understanding where INDIA is, not as PREACHER But as LOVER OF HUMANITY not as Foreigner but as one of US. Not as PUNDIT but as helping hand- a grass root worker and they will come to weed out all the weeds without any expectation in return.

Why? They realized after experimenting all there is in the world and come to conclusion that INDIA HAD and Still IS a LAND where HUMANS REACHED ALL AROUND POTENTIAL OF LIFE. They touch it raw where life force is coming from and Shaped it to flow through HUMANS- That what and is ETHOS and History of INDIA- So let them come and clean and reshape INDIA.

Michel Danino is a scholar and a rationalist who admires and lives India. You should visit his website and you will see that as I did. Maybe we Indians such as the ones passing the snide remarks here would benefit greatly if we had a fractions of his scholarship and sense!

Every religion wants to slam in india to show they are better
by E darwin on May 22, 2010 06:48 PM  | Hide replies

holtz,

DIS-AGREED with false propaganda, you are slamming something ELSE harder to hide what is wrong in your faith.

India have bigger language division, bigger religion divisions, etc. We know the exist.

Again, your logic on CASTE IS A FLAW, you hate anything that works in INDIA.

YOU IGNORED WHAT I WROTE..
"
you cannot say that being AFRICAN is a flaw.

CASTE OR PROFESSION is not flaw

You cannot say, being ksatriya(samurai or warrior) is a flaw.

But some ksatriya imposed royalty criteria on commons.

Go tell the british about their royalty which is sacred... they are the one's who created Isreal.

Casteism is akin to racism but not as severe as racism or kafir/non-kafir or beleiver/non-beleiver seperation.

As i say, will start school of caste, anyone who meets/qualifies certain criteria can take to the study of that caste. We will give certificates of every caste they learn. Even crash course will be given for sub-caste/Clan Jatts, Gujjars, Rajputs, etc.

Humans are bestowed with ability to realise the difference between right and wrong. They are also bestowed with greed. One's thought is a resultant of which of these two is able to supercede the other.

Accepting anything and everything that a foreigner says/does is silly. But, not a preciating an individual does, no matter if he is Indian or foreigner, (sorry to say) is plain stupid.

He had genuinely told that britishers had bias in reporting our history for their own benifit.
As he says we should have some empathy with the fundamentals of Indian culture.Unfortunately the Enlish literate Indians still hang on what Mccauley intentionly said to divide and rule us.
We should understand our greatness "Vasudeiva Kudumbagam",'Sarve jana Sukino bavantu'

Castes were just a classification of different professions
by Sathish N on May 22, 2010 11:54 AM  | Hide replies

By itself, it is harmless. The issue starts when nepotism/favoritism is practiced by the assumed groups not matter what kind of group it is, be it based on caste, religion, religion, gender or anything else. If we cannot see right vs wrong, without coloring using these groups, there is bound to be trouble. There can be short term gains by adopting these opportunistic means, but in long term one losses (spiritually too!). If we can see things as right vs wrong instead of us vs them, life will be wonderful!!

reservations will only help permanent division of society on caste lines. Any consideration for help to an individual must be objective and not discriminatory based on caste and at the cost of merit

Michael Danino is not an isolated case, there are scores of foreigners who are attracted to the ancient hindu religion and its depth in philosophy

I think, the present generation hindus will realise the greatness and the relevance of their religion and benefit
