You cant just come & squat on footpaths, open grounds, sides of rail-tracks or pipelines (yes! 75K ppl have built slums on Mumbai pipelines. Imagine...)
Kangress.. Stop legalizing such illegal slums for votes

Finally Bhumiputras have a natural precedence over non-merit jobs like taxi/rickshaw, peons, clerks etc, anywhere in the country. Else, you will force this strata of less-educated or poorer section of society to migrate from their home.
If & only if there arent enough locals easily available for such class-3/4 jobs should they go to migrants.

Finally:
Mumbai belongs to Maharashtra ;
Maharashtra belongs to India
Hence Mumbai belongs to India

Same for Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad etc

SIMPLE.
Hindi Channels should be sued to bankruptcy for systematically misquoting Thackerays

Das, Again stop spreading this anti-nation agenda. You are the people who should hunged till the end of life. Are you trying to divide India? or the people who fought for the independence of India? if so, your story should end like the story of Hitler.

Thats incorrect. All marathis do not have problems with others. Only a fraction may be. Similarly, not every marathi fights bihari and so on.

Its all political slime. telangana, mumbai, assam, bangalore or gujarat. Its the netajis who create these notions.

best thing is to enforce a law by which any neta who foments violence in the name of region should be publicly executed. any one.

Look at the status of Mumbai and the political stooges in connivance with so called experts go on maintaining that Mumbai is equvalent to Shanghai. The only way to salvage this filthy city is to stop further migrations from other states immediately and implement controlled migration from rest of Maharashtra. Can you imagine a hapless officer goer takes 2-3 hrs to travel a negligible distance of say 5km, by bus.If Thackray means business ,dismantle all the slums within the city overnight, by your brutal force, dismember the organic structure of the lumpens who do business in the middle of the road, smash the vehicles which are parked on both sides of the narrow roads, order the lazy bumpkins contractors to finish the ongoing infras within a specified time, tell the polluting autos to vaccate the city forever and no more new liceneses for autos to ply the citylimits. What Guv uttered was aboveboard conceptually but overboard politically. He never meant offence, but just intent to proclaim to all the state subjects that "I Mr.Shankaranarayanan, the Governor of Maharashtra has resumed duty" a sort of jumping into lime light abruptly, and it was not Politically right for a person of constitutional propriety to intervene in the day-to-day scraps of politicos.he can be a better administrator by giving the suggestions to improve the murkier status of the city.

try to touch one slum in Mumbai. One phone call from New Delhi is enough, Kong State govt stops police, demolition team.

New Delhi Kong dominated by UP Biharis do so to protect their hindi vote bank here.

Its not congress alone. Every political filth has part in the pie. slumlords are from every political party. Only option is revoke voting rights of all illegal shanty owners. Simple. Then every netaji will go for demolition of slums.

Its not a question of a particular political party. We know all politicians are thugs. So, noone is saint. Its or the sake of the city. Revoking voting rights for encroachment will do the trick. Because all these slum netas win because of the illegal slum dwellers.

All politicians may be thugs, but I will hold the politician in power responsible because they have governmental machinery and constitutional power in their hands - in this case it is Kong.

MASS MIGRATION and the disenfranchisement of locals
by howudoudo on Mar 06, 2010 03:00 PM

Migration is fine, but MASS-MIGRATION is not. It is a form of aggression, especially so when these migrants do not assimilate, but maintain their identity to form a vote-bank and ultimately aim to usurp political power from locals. That's what is happening in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra has witnessed waves of migrants from different communities and states over the years, none of which have formed a distinct and separate political vote-bank as the UP/Biharis have done. Please note visible signs of these like the rise of Kripashankar Singh and Sanjay Nirupam as high-ranking Congress leaders who clearly represent and espouse the causes of UP/Bihari vote bank, recent attempts to separate Mumbai out of Maharashtra in the name of development and funds disbursement, moves to make Hindi as an official language in the Municipal Corporation, politicisation of Chatt puja, regular visits of UP/Bihari regional political leaders (Amar, Lalu, Maya) to address political rallies attended by lakhs in Maharashtra, negligible representation of locals in local jobs in an all-India resource like Indian Railways, political moves to repeatedly extend slum-rehabilitation deadlines to mainly benefit recent migrants (mostly UP/Biharis), contract labor system which directly source labor from UP/Bihar at below-minimum wages, etc. all to the detriment of the local population.

I earnestly request you all to kindly stop bothering the grand old man of Mumbai and let him rant in peace. I also beg the media to refrain from paying any attention to his rumblings in the best interests of the city, the state, the nation and all its law-abiding citizens.

Guess he should quit
by debbarma on Mar 06, 2010 02:57 PM  | Hide replies

Guess this Thakre and his family should retire to some Ashram or some cave temple in Himalayas. Too much hatred. Too much divisiveness.

Jaya Bhachan, Karan Johar, Amitab, Sachin tendulkar, Ambani and now the Governor. One wonders if this guy has brains. He just wants to bully someone all the time. Must have lost his mental sanity cos he still lives in Shivaji era - some 3 hundred years ago weilding sword and climbing trees.

What's with this guy if some one comes to Mumbai. Actually he and his family is the biggest drain on the city's exchequer. What did they do to the city ? With no contribution to the betterment of the city. They are provided with security at peoples' expense and spacious bunglows and they eat into BMC like badicoots.

They should be kicked out of Mumbai first for betterment of the city.
