Shame on USA
by Count Meout on Jun 27, 2010 09:14 AM

Its shame on USA. While European Parliament has come forward with a proposal to clean up the mess left behind by a US MNC, USA has not done anything, other than remaining a mute spectator in the Bhopal tragedy.

EU offers to help
by Bodh Ramdeo on Jun 27, 2010 02:46 AM

It's only because of the latest publicity and outrage worldwide that has forced this useless govt into finally talking of remediation actions for the affected victims of this horrible tragedy, otherwise it would've been the same ole callous chalta hai attitude.
If the EU wants to help, govt should take them up on their offer, otherwise the inept, uncaring, callous netas and babus will cock it up- as always.

Use European Help rather in Indian(Delhi) Govt help....
by varghese on Jun 26, 2010 08:15 PM

Its high time we hand over our Govt Functions on basic infrastructure to Western Nations/European Nations..because our Govt has always failed us and has always provided us horrible third rate infrastructure at rates which will send shock waves world over..the nation is in an perpectual state of mess..food is adulterated so are human medicines so is the water as well as anything..roads are worse than drainage mess..buildings are made like latrine slabs..urinals and toilets are railway lines..entire cities are built on rubbles and mess.there is no town planning nor the electricity lines are in any order..low/high voltage fluctuations..perpectual mess..lack of drainage or water problems due to horrible mis-management..its best to hand over our infrastructure rebuilding to other nations and pay them even less than what we are paying our people the conditions will improve and common man will feel better...

You need a big heart to accept your mistake, Only shameless people pass the blame on others.Since late Indira Gandhi, Our country has been run like a family affairs.
What congress is trying to hide if everything is exposed in media. They should come and except their mistake or convince people why they took the decision to let Anderson free or not to clean the affected area.

Bhopal help

It is heartening to hear that some European parliamentarians have come forward to help the Bhopaleans. What BJP did when that party was in power? Now makes hue and cry that compensation is not enough?

All Opposition parties were in slumber till people revolted against the judgement.

Did we care to respect those affected on Dec3 everyear? It is more a political stunt to impress upon PAK. that we pretented as if we are shedding tears for Mumbai tragedy .

US and EU conspiracy?
by Ali on Jun 24, 2010 04:12 PM  | Hide replies

First of all, it was a grevious crime on part of the Government of India to have delayed it thus far.

Also, there is a conspiracy theory that UCC actually leaked the gas on purpose at the behest of the US Federal Government. It seems they did this to experiment a kind of biological warfare, one with war-gas!

And now to read that these EU nations are suddenly being generous toward India is a matter of concern. I say this because they may actually know about the US Government's conspiracy (of leaking the gas on purpose) and may be wanting to study the situation and the after-effects here... what do you guys think?

It seems there is some logic in your comments. May be true.

May be it was done with the approval of congress and rajiv gandhi. Most of the affected people are muslims.

On June 16, after meeting with President Obama, BP executives agreed to create a $20 billion spill response fund for the spill in DEEPWATER HORIZON.BP has said it will pay $3 billion in third quarter of 2010 and $2 billion in fourth quarter into the fund followed by a payment of $1.25 billion per quarter until it reaches $20 billion. In the interim,In other words President OBAMA has sucked the funds from BP for the Envoirnmental Disaster,I would like to Ask Mr Obama that 15000 deaths in Bhopal are they less for him?Why Indian government has let the US off so easily,Y we the Indian tax payer should pay for there mess & y not DOW?Its high time India has to leave its BANIYAGIRI and talk tough!
