The gas was leaked because the some body put a water hose pipe connected to the Tank.
Question i ask
- Why was the poisonus gas allowed in the factory - Why did the factory admin and govt not take proper care of the systems - Did any one identify the cause of the incident and the main reason for failure... do not see it any where.

Very True & basic question.
Chief engineer, Operator of that section did some negligent but fatal error. It was 1984, avalibility of good technology was not that great in nitrogeneous fertilizer industry & some processess were not fool proof...

Why such a hazardous plant was allowed to be set up in a densely populated city like Bhopal in the first place?

JGN, just ponder... It was 1984... Foreign investement were scarse, as beggers can't be chosers... US multinationals were in a postions to select a factory site even near city... and MP is agri based economy centrally located in India, and union carbide plant was manufacturing fertilizer.
Even Enron power plant near ratnagiri came after this, they too dictated their terms for tech. & commercial aspects.
Still now, it is happening dear... our MMS/central govt. is putting up Nuclear non-liability bill to setup civil nuclear plants in India as per US deal.

Who wants foreign investments at the cost of local population? MMS is a st00ge of WB and USA. It is his personal agenda to push the dubious N-deal thru.
Even in the case of Enron, the MSEB officials and Mah Govt signed the deal without conducting cost/benefit analysis. It is better than Enron became bankrupt otherwise the Govt of Mah would have been bankrupt.
Did Enron bring any new technology? NTPC and BHEL are quite capable of building worldclass power plants in India. The only problem is that the politicians cannot get kickbacks from them!!

Well OK... Anderson was flown to Delhi from Bhopal, 1. he stayed there for 1 day gossiping and meeting around with then Central Cabinet Ministers at Sansad Bhawan! 2. He cleared immigration & security checks (which are controlled by Central Govt. depts.)next day at the Airport and left India.
Isn't something wrong here... Central government is more powerful than state CM & state govt. any day. Clearly they can could have stopped him. Congress is giving all bunch of lies. The instructions from Delhi central govt. led to CM of state do such action.
How can media & Congress assume us to be so foolish. They are making Arjun the scapegoat & trying to save skin of Rajiv & Congress top honchos... Satyavrat Chatruvedi, Boota singh & others are just spoons / bootlickers to save responsible central govt.
