Sri. Warren Anderson

In a court judgment where there is an obvious adverse finding against the accused, what is the basis/logic on which the accused is referred with a honorific prefix (see the courts judgement referring “Sri. Warren Anderson”); I neither see it as a legal requirement nor a human right to call called as a ‘Sri’

Lots of questions in the minds of innocent Indians
by he k on Jun 11, 2010 04:26 PM

• Except for Keshub Mahindra, its only the poor members/employees who have actually been convicted;
• there are two other absconding accused; Union Carbide, US and Union Carbide, Hongkong (both are entities) which are declared as absconding; I understand an individual can abscond, how come a registered corporate has also absconded in both US and Hongkong; shows the biggest fallacy in investigation;
• Does it mean when there is a big liability like this, especially a criminal liability an entity can transfer ownership and escape the clutches of law; ridiculous legal system we are in;
• Beyond all governmental connivance and failures, its gross failure and connivance of the Indian Judiciary; shows how corrupt our judiciary was even several years ago;
• If we can hold the govt for its errors, what is the judiciary going to do for the erroneous and so called justice it has delivered to the people of India;
• All three pillars of the constitution have been demolished several years ago and what we are seeing is only a worsened situation of it; If I have to live in this country anymore I either have to do something to cure this Cancer or (if I feel that the people themselves are not interested for having it) just leave the country. ITS UNFORTUNATE TO LIVE IN THIS KIND OF A COUNTRY WHERE WE ARE FOOLED EVERY MORNING BY EACH AND EVERY COMPONENT OF THE CONS

It is congis who allowed anderson to leave india after a lot of dollars were possibly deposited in their account.Now also, a mere stoppage of any military equipment from usa will force them to export Anderson to india.

Govt. including sarkari naukar in govt. departments are to be blamed. they didn't monitor the plant sincerely. There are regulatory bodies that should constantly go on checks and see if everything is operated properly or not. Our engineers in govt. depts take bribes and give false reports. Union Carbide knew this and they just followed Indian system. I am sure our guys might have suggested to them that things happen here by giving bribes...

just like Amir khan gives bribe to police in rang de basanti and later on kills minister cause he was corrupt.... tumhari galti galti nahi ..aur minister ki galti, galti hai .... what hupocrisy in this country

Mahatma Gandhi is no joke... all those idioootts who abuse gandhi know a shyyyytt about the power of satyagraha .. or his experiments with the truths of upanishads or vedas. he did that literally in daily life. he is human too and he might have made mistakes. Who is calling him God ? ..but he surely knew what he was doing

Bhopal tragedy

If US givt is worried about what is happening in theeir country,like wise our govt should be responsible for what is happening here. Why blame US for what is happening in our countyy. MEA cannot be produced in USA but who gave license to manufacture it here,did the US president asked or forced us for a license. It is rediculous to think that US govt should keep an eye on what their companies are manufacturing in other countries when the govts of those countries cannot do the same. Give millions of dollars bribery one can get any licence here. ssiwS knaB deposits are swelling

if you're so sincere in what you feel ..then do this relentlessly .... gather people... not everyone comes all the times ...so gather a small group from different places in the country and arrange a small trip. young people will be ready to bear the costs... take them around.. let them talk to victims... let them be around ..that itself is an assurance to those who are suffering. Funds will come their own way.. if efforts are sincere, results follow too.

Instead of fighting for justice, this is the first thing they should plan

why should the US care?
by p on Jun 09, 2010 08:53 AM  | Hide replies

The 15,000 people who died were indians. With BP case of oil spill - the birds and animals dying are american. There may also be risk to american health.
Indian govt should have activelly taken up the sace with UN. have the US company pay for the clean up etc. - Does the indian govt have the time and motivation to do that? Indians are busy fighting amonst themselves and killing other indians - naxals, telangana, marathi, assamese, nagas, mullas etc etc

forget about justice u fooooolss... will you get back lost lives ? and those who are suffering need no justice... they need empathy.

We cannot confront with US... it will give us nothing. The country to organize itself and help its own people ...not wait for Govt. or USA to come to ur rescue

True Justice
by achtung baby on Jun 09, 2010 08:49 AM

for those who lost dear ones in this tragedy... empathy and support of their fellow citizens would be more comforting than compensation from USA or imprisonment of few individuals... until this news came in media none of us read what the tragedy is about and none felt bad... so let it be.. if you are really moved then do ur bit ... discreetly.

even if a group of sincere volunteers go there... hug them and cut down on their weekend extravaganza and contribute to victims... it would give so much more moral support to the sufferers ... who needs one time compensation or punishing the guilty ... if someone goes to 20 years in jail what would that change ? i will have same life right ?
