Finally someone in the media whose writing reflects the general mood in India. I wonder who the liberal english media in India really represent. It is a mystery to me.

Peace with Pak a mirage?
by Bodh Ramdeo on Feb 12, 2010 06:17 AM

Pak was created by hate, and exists only on hate, and exudes only hate- any idiot who thinks peace is possible with this hate-filled nation, is even more stupid than dung.
All attempts at 'peace' with this epicenter of global Islamo-fascist terror are just nothing but exercises in futility.

Dr. R. L. Banerjee

Dr. Anil Athale is probably the only Indian today with a logical mind. Dr. Athale should ask our PM, being himself a born Pakistani, why is he a PM of India? What would be his chance of even being chosen a junior minister of any kind of Pakistan had he remained in Pakistan, let alone a PM? If the population of India were 85% moslem, could he expect to have any miniserial position of that India?

Very frank article
by munna mangalore on Feb 12, 2010 01:11 AM

Hats off for writing such a beautiful and candid article sir... I think all the people who espouse "aman ki asha" kind of trash should be asked these questions.A good political leadership over the next 20- 25 years will put india inexorably on the trajectory to becoming a economic powerhouse. And once our GDP grows to gargantuan sizes i dont think that the pakis can even dream of competing with let alone equaling us. As our economy rises v can handle pak with just a fraction of our resources. Inevitably pak will prove to the lesser of our headaches in the near future. So we should stop obsessing about pak and prepare to take on a increasingly belligerent chinese.

Reason for peace talks
by AntonioXavier Annasamy on Feb 11, 2010 11:44 PM  | Hide replies

I guess the reason for all these peace talks, POK kashmiri rehab, submissive posturesetc, by our politicians is because, since 7/11, our country has been spending too much money on arms and ammunition's. The politicians feel too hard to fill their pockets, when money goes to fill military needs...they are not worried about the safety of the country, but their personal bank balances.
I think it is going to take another 7/11 kind of incident to wake them from their slumber... or will it?

by Rajan Mehta on Feb 11, 2010 10:34 PM  | Hide replies

Colonel Dr Anil Athale You are a real gem. Your analysis is bang on target. Devoid of any jingoism, it is the most accurate reading of what pakistan really is. Haven't comes across such a masterly article on Pakistan in a long long time. As an ordinary citizen of this country, i really wonder do the know all politicians, our defence establishment and our intelligence establishment have this view or they just want to be like ostriches who does not want to face reality. Dear Sir, would like you to write a further article on how India should deal with Pakistan on long term basis to protect its vital interests. Please forward your article to all the pseudo peaceniks and first of all to that Aman Ki Asha trash.
