Mahatma had advised the Brits to surrender to the Nazis and win moral victory over the fuherer. The whole world including India would have been under the Nazi jackboot had the brits not told the old man to get lost.

And i am sure you are admirer of netaji, who wanted to use Nazis againt Brit in India. Have you analyzed what would have happened if Netaji succeeded in his mission?

Sam, what vivek wrote is true. You can see it if you remove the vult status of gandhi and examine what gandhi actually said.

merit of any individual is not measured by how many wrongs committed but by how many rightful worthy contributions made. Check your merit and worthinesses to the society before making such comments.

Vivek is absolutely right,he MR Churchil did what was in the interest of his people and country not like our government (Kasab is still making a fool of the indian Government and people)Why should he bother for us when we are not worried about our selves,at times one has to be like that in politics No wonder they ruled so much of the world at that time
The famine not only East and West Bengal but other adjoining states too. It was a famine island amidst the sea of plenty. Not only the ships were diverted, but food grain was diverted too. Tarashankarji's Ashani Sanket gives a vivid picture.
My father, one of the survivors, till to date does not live even a morsel of rice left on his plate neither does a grain fall from the plate to the table, habit dies hard and so does the pain of hardship.
I sincerely wish that we all develop the inquisitiveness with which the author, Madusree Mukherjee, was able to find the truth behind the bengal famine. Similarly behind every present turmoil & choas we have modern-day Churchills, and the time has come to expose them and to stop blind hero-worhsip! Now that some "gates" are opening, hopefully people willnt fail to acknowledge the truth.
Churchill's heart was bleeding for his own people during the war.It was said that when a German ship carrying provisions (meat, eggs) was sighted he asked for a calculation of how many eggs for each man, woman and child in England could be made available if the ship is captured.he had no similar concern for his Indian subjects. The worst man made famine in history which claimed three million lives was caused by diverting boats needed for food transport to military use.
Though S.COURT adviced to relese grain for the poor from the FCI which is roting in their warehouses all over india, the cong langa govt is siting tight with all scams around. No proper governance i would any day rate british rule would have been better thn the present set up.
CHURCHIL FAMILES HAVE KILLED MORE PEOPLE THAN HITLER PERHAPS. JUST THAT THOSE WHO DIED WENT UN NOTICED BY WESTERN PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY ARE SUPERIOR ANYWAYS. CHURCHIL WAS ANOTHER BLOODTHIRSTY WARMONGER.
Indians dont have guts to face the truth about their own leaders, yet they want to tarnish image of world leaders. Indian hypocrisy needs to be exposed first.

How many non Indians recognise WC as a person who has influenced world more than Gandhi? You find Gandhi's statues across many other countries though India is still a developing country to have political influence to have its father of nation being represented and respected across the world.
