shourie, as disinvestment minister in the NDA, sold off BALCO,Hindustan Zinc & Centaur Hotel, Juhu dirt cheap to private firms, & this raised @ that time, a lot of hue & cry. in the case of Centaur hotel, it was sold for Rs 65 crores to one Ajit Kerkar.the time limit of deposting the final instalment, was extended many a times, as this kerkar was not able to arrange the balance amount. finally, kerkar sold off the property for Rs 130 crores to Lalit Suri,(Bharat Hotels)after just 6 months of his acquisition. is this not corruption? what has shourie to say about this ? before talking about corruption today,shourie should delve in his era of ministership.
He came to know this when he is not a minister.till he was in power he was not having time for this and when people have started pointing finger to him
It is surprising to read from Arun Shourie that Congress and BJP are the same.They are not the same Mr Shourie.Congress which ruled for the major part of time is responsible for all the ills of our country.BJP under Vajpayee under whom Arun also served did a fairly good job.BJP is not perfect in all respects but it is far better than Dynastic Congress.Arun seems to be a frustrated person and is attacking BJP unnecessarily.He is a good journalist no doubt.He is right in saying that the Prime Minister was knowing what was happening under Raja.So MMS either becomes an accomplise by not reining in Raja or was incompetant in not knowing what was happening under his charge.Either way he is damned.And we the people of India are the sufferers.

there are severalower centers in the congres. none of them working towards national development but for their own good, influence and retaining the advantage of their own power. the same case with most of other national parties. what we need today is a group of national leaders who concurr on national objective and not power hungry. the nation will prosper, even if they lead for short term say two or three years and make over to another equally honest and sincere leader. the civil servants should get back their respect and importance. they by virtue of having to follow the national guidelines and written down rules, are better placed to take important decision and put forward to the politicians at the cabinet level. the politicians should not goad the civil servants to decide to take a political decision but allow them independence to present their views which definitely should be non partisan and non coorrupt one . the ministers can overrule them but in clearly drafted, precise order or concurr with the top civil servants. the administration will fare better. in a country of our size and the muultitude of religions,languages and ethnicity the honest and sincere civil servants should be encouraged to play their role.

All keep interviewing this nonsense guy called Arun Shourie who just keeps blabbering to stay in news. I think BJP should kick out oldies like Arun Shourie, Jawant singh who have become senile. And as far as the media goes anything in the world is due to BJP and Narendra Modi. Iam surprised they have not found a Modi connection to radia tapes. I demand to know from re.diff why they did not have one article of the Radia taped which is probably the biggest malpractice involving media in the present times.. You only throw dirt at others when you are the most dirty.

Arun shourie fails to realise that the current problem is not of corruption but of systemic failure as to How well the system can be manipulated.Eg:CVC is a former telcom secretary.CBI director is appointed in the midst of the 2G scam by the same CVC who is chargesheeted. He is the same SBI who is also in charge of investigation into the alleged malpractices by CVC. Instead of giving bullshit interviews and writing long unnecessary columns. HE must cooperate to make sure that Corruption of this proportion is not hidden beneath.
