Saint means
by Dinkar Singh on Aug 27, 2010 12:45 PM  | Hide replies

if you want to convert people in your relegion and then due to that you are helping others then its not act of Saint. Help with condition is not an act of Saint. its a business.

For those of you who thinks Mother Theresa helped people only because she wanted them to convert to christianity. I guess that just stupid and false propaganda. Anyway it's better to move away from a religion which treats some class of people as untouchables, and give importance to animals than human life. Also look into the records of your so called sadus(Mahatma).

Are you very sure that was the thought in her mind when she was helping others?

Be very careful when making sweeping statements about people and their lives. This is an entire life of service that we are referring to. Try helping one person and see the difficulties involved.

If she wanted to convert she would have done it with a gunny bag of rice...why clean leper wounds????? which is easier?

are you sure she was the only one who in her initial days might have cleaned leper wonds...several people are doing much more than that..but no publicity..and awareness..work silently.

But she started it with limited resources and with a single intention of caring for the poor,sick...later on if others did it that is good..but she initiated and showed the world to CARE and bring JOY to KOLKATA!!

initially even congress had nobel intentions..start mostly is good..then..spread of religion is their only goal. Why do you see violence in most poor and underpreviledged places..like kandhamal..they trade money and promise of good life..why dont they try in larger cities and metros???

By that same measure, how sure are you that she wasn't doing it? People have died in her arms and blessed her while doing so. If you can't see, don't try to blind others.

BTW, the noise is from people who appreciated her work. The person herself remained "SILENT WORKER" throughout her life. THis is a person who was not even comfortable being photographed, mind you.

Who is "their" brother? A larger agenda is easier to pursue without helping others. You can just manipulate the media for that. You can force people by point of gun for that. This hasn't happened here. Her agenda was peaceful to the core.

It's just that it is impossible to accept in the present context and happenings. It seems to lack credibility.

No matter what, a person's work speaks for itself. Religion or not, it is still the noblest of work and achievement.

Hari, you are creating an issue where there is none. By trying to tie one person's life to a grouse you have against a religion is hitting below the belt. The person in question here was not involved in conversions.

No there is no carrot, the last time i checked. Social conditions create peculiar situations. It will happen within other religions as well which are spread globally. Forceful conversion is wrong principally and by law.

Infact a dying person is least bothered about religion when he's dying of leprosy or cancer. He just wants to move on with some dignity. So they wouldn't easily convert. Many of them are in such hopeless conditions that even offering them money or clothes is of no use. They just need personal attention and love. Love is not the domain of any one religion. it is universal.

Exactly, a few words of love and acceptance goes a long way..so what if some religion offers it to this starved deprived section of society!
