I fail to see why you are upset at his statement. India was the cause of this alliance, so why cry now? Sri-Lanka let Pakistani planes refuel in Sri-Lanka during the Bangladesh war. Even after this, they still preferred the Sinhalese over the tamils. India made its decision, moronic as it is. Sri-Lanka-Pakistan-China is the new reality. India, get ready to get it from behind.

Posting an unbiased honest remark on Rediff has become next to impossible, thanks to their sickular agenda.
1) Rajiv Ghandhi's assassination lead to declaration of the group as terrorists. This subsequently led other countries to follow the suit 2) The bank accounts seized & funds were stopped to the org 3) Arms flow & food stopped to the org 4) Break away of Colonel Karuna was a major draw back for the org. Karuna must have revealed the secrets of the LTTE. 5) SL Govt. policy not allowing the UN or other org into SL calling it as internal affairs. They have hidden the brutal and genocide war against Tamils community completely. They have been successful in stopping even the countries like US or UK into their affairs. 6) War crimes from both ends lead for the: loss of support for LTTE; and complete gain for SL side. 7) Cheap arms from China helped the SL army. Especially the Intelligence provided by satellites helped the SL army to very great extend. 8) The mighty SL army indiscriminately firing into ambush killed Tigers. 9) Media Played an important role in support SL side. 10) India would have played major role. More than what was is written here.
India has to learn lots of lesson from SL, the way they cunningly won this war.
I feel petty for Prabhakaran's family who died for the cause. I believe that he was died of bombing and was buried. Then SL army dug up his grave to prove that he was indeed dead. They claimed to have defeated LTTE which was already restricted in so many ways.

Really? Well then, why did India go and create Bangladesh? A former region of Pakistan? I suppose any state should not tolerate this, so Pakistan cannot tolerate this and is therefore, according to your own statement, justified is getting back at India on this.
it seems ghokhale knows too little about the srilankan problem, has made it sound too simplicistic.he is far removed from ground reality,matters military or the ethinic situation.seems he has become paper expert after merely reading two books n visiting colombo thrice.
1971 - Bengali Hindus were being persecuted by their state (Pakistan). India moves in with full force and liberates them.
2009 - Tamil Hindus were being persecuted by their state (Sri Lanka). India watches the fun from the side line and allows the rag tag Tamil dream to be butchered.

Suman - From your name, it seems like you are a girl. Why are you so happy that Tamil women and children were killed in Sri Lanka? What's your reason for your hatred?
Since then India failed to protect our origins and hold its foothold in sri lanka, You have no respect India, Wish, you would not be bleeded by china/Pakistan.

The reason behind the mass_acre of Tamils in Lanka is that Italiann waitresss, she took revenge for her husband's death on whole community...By the way china/Pakistan will be wiped out of earth if we give our army full power when they dare to attack our mother land...

Yeah right. Like when China kicked your ass back in the last war? This time, with their foot-hold in Sri-Lanka, India will not exist if China comes in. Moreover, get real. You think with the politicians at the top, India has a chance against China? Your politicians will be bickering at the top while the Red Army just walks in.
Well, well, well; the country self proclaiming itself to be a peace loving, upholding dharma, true beleiever in non-violence, has been shown to be not so in reality. It ought to be ashamed of itself. When the Chinese screw you the Lankan govt cannot and won't even lift afinger to help you . When the Americans give arms to Pakistan to be used against you please do not cry like a baby. What you do to others, will haunt you in a likely manner.
