India definitely helped sri lanka not to clear the terrorism (In India's point of view thie term Terrorism always different) but to kill the innocent people. And still it's not asking the human rights violation happening in sri lanka. If US does this same to Iraq people, India cries, shouts like anything... Why the different stand?

Time will tell if Tamils have beed vanquished and destroyed. "Tamils will very frankly never get the kind of autonomy they have been demanding." In their own land, they cannot ask for that? And in TN- they now use EVM to control the mass.

Stop cribbing Sarma....nobody supports killing "innocent ppl" but the guys you are supporting are terrorists. To flush them out, you have to take a hard shot which will sometimes affect innocent lives as well. Muslims need to stop supporting fellow muslims who are terrorists, tamil with tamils, hindu with hindus. Why can't you guys forget these things for a moment and just concentrate on humanity. There has been no peace in SL for years now. At least there's hope now. From here on what the govt does will be scrutinized and if they don't treat their citizens well, then that's something to worry about. Taking up arms can and should never be supported, for whatever cause. Pakistan got created for the wrong reason, religious difference, and it hasn't seen true peace ever since. All these differences only hamper societies. I keep reading all these north indian-south indian differences. Why are we a country of divide and rule -- unfortunately passed on my the brits!! I am Tamilian but only after a human and Indian. I know there'll be some who'll have objections to some of the points but now that's inevitable. In a nutshell, I am not happy with the differences that exist in this world based on I-hood. I belong to the best religion, best country, best language, most beautiful color etc etc. But that's just me and I know stand quite alone in all this!!

So it is evident that the coward Rajapakse could not even win LTTE alone. He needs giants like India, China and Pak to win over a small rebel group in his tiny land. It's not a real victory. It's a shameful one.

Idiot Aryan connection. Every research on the Gentic makeup if the Sihhalese and the Eelan Tamils have revealed the same results. Genetic Make up of the Sinhalese : 70% DNA South Indian Tamil. 25% DNA Bengali. 5% DNA Veddah. Genetic make up of the Indigenous Eelam Tamils.: 55% DNA common with the original Sinhalese/Eelavar or Hela people. ( not the present day Sinhalese largely descended from recent South Indian Tamil migrants.) 28% DNA Bengali. 17% DNA SOuth Indian Tamil. ( the 17% SOuth Indian DNA is largely from the Chola invaders and settlers who invased teh country many timnes during 8th to 12th century or even earlier). SO I fali to understand where your common Aryan roots are from . This DNA breakdown shows that the present day Sinhalese are largely descended from recent South Indian Tamil migratns who migrated to the island during the Portuguese and Dutch period and settled in the western and southern parts of the isalnd and got converted to Buddhism and Catholism and gradually became Sinhalese. The present day Sinhalese castes of Karawe, Salagama,Durawe etc who noe make up aorund 50% of the Sinhalese population are purely descended form these low caste Tamil migratns from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Ironically most Sinhala extremists (Buddhist and Christian ) belong to these castes. That both people have a significant amount of Bengali DNA gives credence to the fact that a large amount of Prakrit speakers migrated from North East India and became par to of the

Sinhalese and the Eelam Tamils. This proves many of these Prakrit speaking migratns did not accept Buddhism and settled amongst the Eelam Tamisl and gradually got assimilated into them. However the arrival of Buddhism toghether with the Pali and Sanskrit associated with it, and the cultural influence of these Parakrit speaking migants changed the language and the culture of the Tamil speaking Eelavar population in the south ,western and central parts of the country. So that a new language closely associalted with the newly arrived Buddhist religion gradually started to imerge. This language was mixture of the Tamil of the indigenous Eelavar or Elu or Hela people, the Pali and Sanskrit of Buddhism and the Prkrit of the Indian migratns. This was called Sinhala which means Sinham Eelam the Elu of the lion peopelk as they called themselves. The orthodox Theravada clergy also encourged the growth of this language as this gave thses newl y converted Tamil and other Buddists a new identity and forged all these people in to new identity ( the native Eelam Tamils, The Prakrit migratns, the Veddhas etc ). Even now modern Sinhalese is aorund 35% Tamil and its grammer syntax lexicon and alphabet is based on Tamil. As the population in the North East did not convert to Buddhism or reverted back to Hinduism thier Tamil language did nto cahge even after absorbing a large amount of Prakrit speakers from North East India.
