Folks-- This is not racism.. Anand is GUILTY BEYOND DOUBT
by Suman Rangarajan on Sep 02, 2009 06:01 PM  | Hide replies

Sorry boys.. I have lived in the US for a very long time. This country is extremely fair. I have known this country's judiciary system to be very fair. Unfortunately Anand Jon was guilty of his crimes. Lets face the fact. He is guilty and he has to serve for his crimes.

I am embarrased as an Indian that this has happened. This should serve as a lesson to other people that what he did was immoral and wrong.

since you pointed the fact that you have been in US for a long time, I have been in US for quite a while and I have pursued my studies and my career is in American Justice. Leave the matter or Anand Jon aside for the moment. The fact that a direct juror for the case was in contact with the guilty's immediate relative (guilty since his conviction), according to the laws this case should be given a retrial, wait and watch for the result of his appeal. The story of the immediate relative is unfolding and a request for a retrial in context of this immediate relative issue is moving forward. This will end up with a retrial and then the suspect will have to again fight for justice and prove his innocence. Please keep in mind American justice is one of the best with UK and Indian laws, but it has flaws in the type of progress carrier towards when it comes to colored suspect or caucassian suspects.

Fair! What does that mean until you face the opposite. Talk to the African-Americans in Texas whose case the ACLU is fighting or the NY Vientamese immigrant and many like him who languish and sometimes die of cancer etc in jail waiting for justice.

I condemn Jon if he really did what he did. The question is did he. The US system is very rigid and is dependent on the whims and fancies of so-called jurors who might be morons in reality and cannot understand the intricasies of a case. Plus they could just be prejudiced.

jurors are morons? damn, that's why they have 12 jurors and they have more than a few deliberations, offer of immunity towards accomplice turning into a witness, DA investigator results etc. Please don't spit your to degrade jurors like that.

Indian Govt should intervene
by Butyl Sulphonate on Sep 02, 2009 03:46 PM  | Hide replies

Indian govt must intervene and rescue Anand. How can Indian govt keep silent. After all, they have to support minority community and he is of Indian origin from ally's state (Tamil Nadu ruled by DMK). Does kaangress have a choice? No. Anand has to be rescued. People's responses please !!!

Catholics are good people, however just as there are bad people from any religion Anand was bad example for your fellow Catholics.

He probably had a rough childhood. I have heard about his mother & sister. What about his father? He must have had issues as a child. Normal people don't have paedophilic tendencies.

Sanjana says Anand is a victim of racism,if this is the truth then why Anand is the only Indian who has been convicted and imprisoned for 59 years.there are after all many Indians in USA who have been far more successfull then Anand but never faced any discrimination.

But does he desrve such a cruel punishment of 59 years behind bars.
How many policemen/Military men of India raped thousands, who has been sentenced so severely as this one?
You should be able to read in between the lines.Connect the Aid to Islamabad, Arms supply to Pak-recent Kalam,SRK confinement- the needle of suspicion points to US new policy of INDIA-BASHING, to retain their regional foot hold.

To prove Anand is innocent you are projecting Anand as a Superhero and a threat to America.

The guilty has had sex with under aged and he deserves punishment, level of punishment depends on where he committed the mistake, so law of the land in USA took care of it. The so called fact about police/people in services in India, that Indian govt and people have to take it to task. So don't give a comparison with what's happening in India and compare with John's case to minimize his years behind bars. Stop being anti-US, I have been in India and US many years, and I never felt my rights have been invaded by authorities in US, compared to India.

Such punishment is ther in US law. That is why, he has been awarded with such punishment. India is a different country. Is there any law? You can go scot free by murdering, raping anybody. It will take at least a decade to decide whether he is guilty or not. At the most, he will be jailed for two years!
