Fellows like JGN should understand that who will pay for the pollution you create, who will pay for the national waste that is created because of this festival...Infac, every H*I*N*D*U festival has extravagance and wastage of money, they don't give alms or charity but are willing to blow away millions on self-pleasure and indulgence....When millions are starving in poverty, millions washed away in floods, millions sleeping on pavements of India, all the H*I*N*D*U*S are selfish and self indulgent folks who are worried about their new clothes, burning crackers and eating sweets which will come out the next day...All for a night's pleasure...They are willing to stash away that money rather than spending it on the poor or needy in providing a meal for that night...Indians spending on Diwali extravagence is equivalent to feeding poor families for 1 week in India...H*I*N*D*U mentality is a C*H*E*A*P mentality of only grabbing and storing it in their homes...They only grab never give....No wonder why the reputation of I*N*D*I*A*N*S is so high in the rest of the World....HAPPY DIWALI, HAPPY KAWWALI...

Is Kerala not part of India.
by aus ant on Oct 18, 2009 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

You go around Kerala and there is no sign of Diwali - no damaka, no sweets, no gagra cholis, no nothing.
Why dont the mallus celebrate Diwala like the rest of us.

Diwali is a Parsi festival in awe of fire (agni). So all Parsi and Armenian traders used to celebrate it. Hindus learnt it from them. In Kerala there were Arab and Jew traders who did not celebrate fire festival. And Kerala was not trading the usual items. Kerala had extensive trade in other products like pepper etc.(Dipa is a small fire, thence the crackers came). Hence one way it is good that Mallus dont celebrate it. It shows the diversity of our country.

Happy diwali, happy economy.

Diwali is festival of prosperity. Richness comes with spending. western society is rich because they consume things. buy and sell stuff all the time. This is key to job creation and growth. Nothing worong in enjoying quality product and services. That way you create demand and hence the supply comes in form of job creation. Key to growth of economy. Happy diwali.

If some agree with the thought of doing good deeds on auspicious occasions, then they need our help first.

Dear Dev,

I really appreciate u on ur noble thoughts... good keep it up... North Karnataka and Andhra have be affected only for this recent rain.. there are millions of people in india who need help (with food and clothes), its better we ensure that there are no beggars in our street and if the whole street start ensuring this, then i am sure india will see no beggars / poor people.. Jai Hind
