Just getting killed on duty is not a reason for breavery award.
Hemant karkare had 1) gun, 2) bulletproof jacket 3) helmet 4) officers to assist him 5) well trained for encounters
what was the outcome? 1) didnt save anyones life or Didnt kill any terrorist
Tukaram Omble had 1) one lathi
What he achieved? 1) saved the lives of all other policemen around (nobody other that tukaram died, because his body shielded the bullets. 2) Captured the terrorist alive becuase of which we got many valuable intelligence inputs & proof.
hats off to this guy!! To get ajmal kasab alive we had to pay a heavy price thats the life of tukaram omble!!

What else can you expect in this THIRD WORLD country apart from corruption and filth.Few candles, some western music, some tele chat shows, few lines of coverage in rediff and celebration or may be few fake speeches from so called our leaders ... this how we pay our respect to brave soldiers for their supreme sacrifice. I can guranteed tomorrow every body will forget about them and we will start fighting again with each other like a street dogs on our identification as Marathis,Bengalis,Biharis and Madrasi.India is a joke n we Indians are biggest racist in this world n ofcourse HYPOCRITES..

Agreed. The only saving grace was Karkare was not hiding in his office or home and giving directions from there. He did not shirk from his duty. As for Tukaram, no words of praise can be enough. You see only in films that the hero, though riddled with bullets, doesn't let off the villain. But here was a man who enacted in real life what most of the people even in the security forces cannot think of. May be a film on him would inspire a generation of youngsters.
For that matter, how many VIPs remembered the supreme sacrifice made by the valiant son of India, Maj. Sandeep Unnikrishnan ? The unfortunate part is no leader in Maharashtra has the credentials of being remembered as a role model for the rest of the population, for selfless service, grace, concern for the poor & needy, honesty etc. When it comes to sheer opportunism, each one scores highm outdoing the other

ask the ratty ,the bally, thakerays about their manoos.they do not acknowldge the bravery of their own but are the firs to hide under their beds cowering like cowards when any problems happen.
Yes. Raj T is not working for marathi manoos, he is using the innocent bhoomi putra for fulfilling his own selfish objectives. Atleast he should have attained the Veer Tukaram Omble functions. but assssss shit he is selfish and has proved that he feds himself with that assssssss shit. Jain Hind Vande Matram

brave police force are not gonna win the battle if masses dont start supporting them. Usually people in india run away from crime scene. Never help police force in fighting the crime or help them with truth. Thats reason police fail to catch the criminals many time. Also need massive amount of professional training and techno to our police system.

In your India, the police force are criminals, unlike our Pakistan where they are committed.

Mr. Mullah I agree that coz of politicians India is on this kind of stage. But, Pakistan is not like a white Dove. We know the pak politics where Prime Minister's are not safe any time. Govt. get changes from a man in aeroplane. There sis to much about Pak, but anyone can say " India is Better than ....."
My deepest and sincere homage to Mr.Tukaram Omble. May his soul rest in peace and his self less act of bravery send a reminder among the citizenry to remain vigilant and start standing up in elections against uneducated and illiterate politicians who are hell bent on rotting the existing system. The state should declare this day as Maharashtra Police Day.
