Completely agree with you, Tarun on this views. However, please do not tell us that Vajpayee or Advani are leaders with spine and can handle these issues very well. We had a dose of them =) Let us pray for such leaders to come and rule.

The international relationships are defined by strength you have, not spine you have. If you have spine and the country is strong enough, that's OK. it would be a disaster for a country whose leaders have spine, but the country is not powerful enought. Wisedom is more important. The status of a country is taken by comparing, struggling or even fighting, you cannot expect others to give.

lolan, i'd like to say that atleast those are the leaders who take their own decision instead of the puppet we have who acts as per his mistress' instructions. and if u agree with tarun on his views, u dont have to pray. u've to act and ELECT leaders who think for the benefits of the ordinary indians.

True Mehul! We saw how they took their own decisions during plane hijacking issue. Call him puppet or what ever, but much better than the so called 'LOH PURUSH' ! I am neither a fan of MMS and for that matter any of the current set of leaders. But I know for sure, no one is better any one. That's why I wish to pray for good and sincere leaders.

Agree with the author. There are no friends like "Viru" and "Jay" of sholay in politics. It is pure politics. We must stop looking up at US or any other country for anything. Next time when there is an attack on Indian soil kick their backs don't even wait for the world to send in their condolences and advises for showing restraint. Also, the political class in India is pathetic, the ****(you know what I mean) don't care a damn about the people. They always choose the wrong and easy solution for all problems. I sometimes wonder who hurt India most? The foriegn Invaders, The British or the people of India themselves. I regret to say but I think we hurt ourselves more than anyone else did. Unless we mend our ways nothing good will happen.
One thing I have against US policies though is that, they are opportunistic to the core, they will do business with the Devil if it means even a short term gain for them. This China friendship is only until they themselves recover from the economic crisis.
Bottomline for us is to treat all dealings with US strictly on the basis of cost/benefit ratio. And do what best suits our people. Boy am I dreaming?
Why did the party lose in general elections-one before this recent one? That was at a time when everyone-including the opposition-expected it to win. It was because the party began to praise its achievements. To win an election-one has to sell dreams to the masses. Trying to sell facts to the masses doesn't work. Facts are disturbing-they are like double edged swords. Because there are all kinds of facts-some pro, some anti. Parties have been using advantageous facts to further themselves, and disadvantageous facts have been replaced with beautiful dreams. Those who are good at it , win the election. Emphasis has to be on dreams. Even advantageous facts have to used in limit. They are like the bone skeletal structure to provide standing strength. But large percentage of body is not bones. Remaining mass comes from flesh , blood and nereves-nearly 80% may be. So Prachar should be 20% facts, remaining should be plans, promises and dreams. That is how Naxals won the war in Nepal, and UnProgressiveAxis in Bharat. Hope Tarun Vijay is paying heed.Best of luck.

No we have other issue to negate first we have to divided saurastra and gujrat, then maharastra and vidarbha, then andhra and telengana. We also have to find a measure of how to push north indians out of mumbai. naxals in south and maoists in north. leave it mr tarun there is no will of this gutless and spinelss govt to solve any national issue but they are best architects in making an issue within the country. I dont blame the leaders i blame the people shamelss, pathetic, disunitied, non-respecting of other state language or food or culture. TRUST ME WE WONT DEVELOP OR INTEGRATE UNLESS EVERY INDIAN FROM EVERY CORNER OF THE COUNTRY respect each other cultures and way of living rather than having individual pride.

DO YOU THIK THAT INDIA WILL EVENTUALLY DISINTEGRATE BECAUSE OF DIFFERENCES MAINLY IN LANGUAGE, CULTURE, RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS ETC? ASK A BENGALI WHICH IS THE BIGGEST RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL. INVARIABLY THEY WILL SAY DURGA PUJA, THE MAHARASTRIAN WILL SAY GANPATI PUJA, MALAYLEES- ONAM, NORTH INDIANS- DIWALI, ETC.ETC.THE NATIONAL ANTHEM (Rabindranath Tagore), THE SLOGAN BANDE MATARAM (Vamkim Chandra Chatterjee) AND JAI HIND (Subhas Chandra Bose)WERE ALL GIVEN BY BENGALIES. YET LOOK AT BENGAL TODAY-A SHAMEFUL, POOR PATHETIC STATE.

And you think why we are where are today! When you sell dreams you have to deliver them too. Otherwise it is plain robbery.
Re: Re: Power
by sachchidanand dhar on Nov 25, 2009 04:51 AM
That is the best part, dreams need not be delivered. Either they are sold again, or replaced with rosier ones. Masses would still fall far it. See the track record of masses so far-all over the world.

You have nicely analysed the issue (article). Some time worth spent on your comment rather than on the usual blame game of the bloggers on Congress and its government and praising the BJP.
Re: Power

The old principle of "How to win friends and influence people". If one has to catch fish, one has to use a worm on the hook. The worm may be abominable to fish-catcher, but it is lovely to the fish. One can not catch a fish by putting ice cream on the hook, no matter how delicious it may be to the fish-catcher. To get votes from the masses, one has to talk about masses-no matter how stupid one considers them to be. One can not get vote from the masses by talking about oneself-no matter how intelligent one considers oneself. All parties are doing that. Those who do it better than others, win the elections. Others have to remain content with strength of Sachchai and Eemaandaaree.

Is this democracy ie rule of people or fish hunting ground? the fish catcher is not responsible to fish after he catches fish but in democracy its NOT
Re: Re: Re: Power

It is another dream to imagine that parties are responsible to the masses. If I remember right-there is Judicial provision to take a party to task for not fulfilling promises-ONLY if it has been part of their Written and Signed manifesto. See the fate of NATIONAL RIVER LINKING PROJECT. There is a Supreme Court order to finish the project as early as possible. How much work has been done in that direction. does any one have any PROGRESSIVE report.

The ritual of burning Manusmirity must be followed religiously by every aboriginal family on their happiest moments in life in every generation so that they never forget.
Just like jews never want to forget that they were slaves in egypt.
