India's self respect
by ashok leyland on Nov 25, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Frankly I am fed up. Fed up of the vacuum that exists in India's policies and lack of strategies. The behaviour of our politicians who are living in a cocoon of ignorance and foolish beatitude is sickening. Where is the pride, the joy of being Indian? Of being part of a subcontinent full of culture, genius and achievement?
Why do we have politicans go with their heads down, walk behind everyone, act as if they hav eno right to eat at the master's table?
Why wait for someone to give you everything? Why no self respect and confidence? Probably because we are all in posts taken with cunning and by cheating. If Manmohan Singh had any self respect or respect for his fellow countrymen he would have made sure that there was a 2 minute silence to remember the victims of ALL the terrorist attacks before they stuffed themselves on prawns and brinjals.

And you really thought that Mr. Singh really cared about the 'aam admi'-?????? He thinks that the life of the 'aam admi' is worth a mere Rs 2 lakhs, as proven by his attitude to the man who died because he could not reach PGIMER in Chandigarh during his visit there. And also that came after much media bashing

Control rogue Hindu's
by Guest on Nov 25, 2009 06:20 PM  | Hide replies

Completely agree Mr. Vijay, but I would only say that a corollary to having a spine would be for leaders like you and other senior leaders in the RSS to have a leash on people like Advani and Thackeray who have single handedly destroyed the case for Hinduism and against psuedo secularism for their selfish interests.

Neither Advani nor Thackeray is a friend of Hindus or India and in fact hurt the spine that you are talking of developing. Organizations like the Shiv Sena are actually an embarrassment for our country and you and other RSS leaders need to intervene into this blatant and open secret about what the Sena really is. For lack of courage Hindus do not fight the enemy within.

That in spite of having a number of gods devoted to bravery and the Hanuman Chalisa et all. An article by you on these enemies within will be much appreciated rather than educating about the US and international politics most of which is common sense and well known.

I agree with you both in putting things in right perspective. the question which needs an answer is how to get in to the root of the problem! Some one said ' in a big democracy, the Mass is Ass"!!!! absolutely right. what each of us have done in nation building? we become more of a critic often..isn't it? what is our contribution to creating a better environment by passing on the right values or wisdom to the next generation......THE CITIZENs of INdia?.. isn't it a point to think whether or not schools are required to dump/flood the minds of young children with often unnecessary information. CREATE A BETTER FUTURE BY CREATING BETTER CITIZENS...is what i have to say...and probably one of the ways for a better tomorrow with indians with SPINE.!!!

I agree with you. It is time the BJP rid itself of defunct top brass, if necessary with the help of the RSS

A Study in Hypocrisy
by Haramohan Roy on Nov 25, 2009 12:30 PM  | Hide replies

The above article is a nice little study in hypocrisy. The author deliberately glosses over the fact that the USA is a hypocrite nation - a nation which goes on aiding and abetting autocratic or terr0rist regimes (from Spanish Civil War to Pakistan, through the Bao Dai regime in Vietnam) - and they have never admired India, a country that preaches democracy. It is abundantly clear that the USA only gives importance to its own profits in the arms-bazar in the world, and hence their support for the terr0rists and autocrats!

True to his style, Mr Vijay has cleverly preached the message of violence and hatred - suggesting that India should abandon the peaceful democratic way and adapt a violent measure. This may be the motto of his political culture, as we all know. However, most Indians find it abominable to tread the path of violence just to please the USA and persons like Mr Vijay!

so when the indian army defends you from kasab and co, you will find their violence abominable as well?

tv is talking about defence and not attacking another nation. but your post clearly shows how ahimsa is misused in this country.

Roy,
Sooner or later we all realise we have to be responsible for ourselves. Nobody owes us a living! Only mother's love is pure & the children cannot repay in full the parent's love!

Without an agends that the article obviously has, we as a country have to have one! We should protect our basic interests, whoever is elected to power. That, the Chinese have. We are a divided house! Obviously, we cannot cut ice!

US has strong lobbyists mostly in the arms trade! They still monopolise the market! So their foreign policy is guided with that vested interest. It is upto us to realise & react!

China is a command economy but plays the capitalist system of flair & individual enterprise! The US is feeling the heat like a driver getting honked from behind by who is in a hurry! China is controlling rare earths, the minerals that are basics to hybrid batteries, i-phone & all modern gadgets! The idea is only they can produce them in large quantities! US is running scared & is rather helpless! Russia has its huge oil & gas to last centuries. Europe is divided but does not have a unified foreign policy.

It is time we all united to map out our startegy of survival, take stock of our own minerals that will benefit us in the long run! Most take the easy course of blaming those in power, as if a change will mean manna from heavens! The bare fact is the world is in boil & whoever is in power does not have any leverage due to our divisive politics & human psyche!

Time is up!

So Mr Roy would you advocate disbanding the Army and other defence forces ? It is only logical, each time somebody slaps us, turn the other cheek ! Which do you think is the country most admired 'Violent' USA or 'peaceful' India ? stand at the immigration counters of foreign countries, you will have the answers.

I do not think Mr. Vijay is preaching violence here. Actually, his article is quite pragmatic. On the other hand, How are you so sure that 'most indians find it abominable......'? Have you done any study on that line lately?
Also, I would like to know what is your opinion about the china vis a vis India. Friend or foe?

I completely agree with Mr.Tarun and we Indians don't deserve to be respected. we are just a bunch of sheep's. do sheep's be respected by the lions and tigers. only power respects power. so if we need respect we should get it not beg for it.
