Mumbites are great people
by mallaiah anchoori on Nov 19, 2009 08:03 PM  | Hide replies

In spite of such heart rendering occurrences,it is very typical & great of a Mumbite that he remains very stoic & steadfast even in the wake of such worst things. That is the real greatness of Mumbai & a Mumbite.Even after series of bomb blasts in May 1993,people showed their undeterredness/unpertubedness & composure to such an extent that attendance in offices was almost 90%.Had it been any other city, people would not have ventured even to peep out for another week's time.I have all my praise for Mumbai & the Mumbites who also prove very helpful despite their busy schedule. There is a mistaken notion that there is no social life in Mumbai, but Mumbites know to seek pain in pleasure & make their life a heaven within the available time.I am very sure even after reading all these stories of ghastly & grue some incidents a typical Mumbites remains very unperturbed & carries on his routine as usual.Mumbites are "Karma Yogis" & believe in the theory of "do thy duty & leave the rest unto God"They are ardent believers in perseverance & strict discipline. And one astonishing-rather laudable thing about this great city is that who ever, irrespective of the region/religion comes & settles down there will fit into that grue of unique culture on the very next day.And precisely, this could be one of the prime reasons that is responsible for its ever increasing richness in terms of material wealth & culture.A person who gets used to Mumbai life, refuses to move out despite the attendant hardshi

Modi! What sort of wishful thinking is it!!Never wish for it even to your worst enemy since you must be aware as to what would be the havoc a bomb like thing.Facing some thing with fortitude is different from wishing for such things like you. Please stop such pernicious & pessimistic ideas which none favours. It is very unfortunate that instead of sympathising & appreciating the steadfastness of Mumbites even in the face of such worst situations, you should wish like this!

Amit! Who is not running after money?Mumbai is a place which gives livelihood to lakhs of people & that too without shunning the laudable work culture & discipline unlike many other cities. You are mistaken!!Time is very precious & its value is best known to Mumbites than any others in the country. If you visit some one's house with prior intimation/ appointment, you get royal treatment-that way Mimbites are known even for their hosting also. The problem is if you knock at some one's door with no notice, you are certainly an uninvited guest since no Mumbite likes to lose the pleasure of the weekly off which he gets after hard working of entire week entailing hours of daily commutation in local trains or BEST buses.

no need of that. Just drive away all non-marathis and had over control to marathis only. Then these marathi will use Trombay atomic reactor for bada pav cooking and thats it. After that there will not be any Bombay.

While agreeing that Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city where any one from any part of the country can come, ekout a livelihood & settle as well as per the fundamental rights guaranteed to all the citizens by the Indian Constitution, one also needs to respect the sentiments of the locals who are politically exploited by disgruntled politicians of fanatic regional parties like Siva Sena & its recently born by products.Left to them without being incited, Maharashtrians are very docile, disciplined & law abiding. They are not to be blamed;the politicians are the main culprits who fail to understand that the over all development of Mumbai is a collective & concerted effort of all the residents who include non-Maharastrians settled & settling there also. Unfortunately even the politicians who incite the locals also know this naked truth, but for their own survival & in their bid to capture power, they always rake up regional feelings & thrive on it.Were any such feelings of regionalism before Siva Sena?Parties like Sivasena in Maharastra,TRS in AP are the real culprits in the matter.People know this also, but true leaders educating the mass of the hard realities who can stand up boldly, fight with unruly elements of regional parties are becoming a rare specie.

26/11 came into the limelight because some foreigners & rich Indians were killed. Media is not worried about previous terrorist acts where thousands of middle class people were killed in bomb blasts.

What about the Local Support
by Yogesh Kokatay on Nov 19, 2009 06:58 PM

Not a single report about local support, Mumbai Police may be under pressure for not making any statements about local support, but what has happened to the media? Why not a single report on local support for 26/11, or all the jurnos are also on the pay-rolls of ISI, like all the politicians

People just don't care about 26/11'-That is a casual statement from a commoner. But for a citizen it means a lot.
1)26/11 is an attack on humanity, an assault on civility, and last but not least an outrage on our self respect.
2)26/11 has shaken the very foundation of our Integrity and democratic values of all the republics globally.
3)26/11 pinpoint the lapses from our Intel system and calls for updation, renovation and improvisation of our security apparatus.
4)26/11 calls for sacrifices from our part, an alrm to get ready for yet another freedom struggle.Freedom form corruption, freedom from political lethargy and Judicial rottenness, freedom from communalism.Freddom from regional liguistic hegemony and arrogance.

well said,
we think others dont care, but others do remember the incidence ,and this i have seen many times in local trains when someone wants to keep bag on overhead self and tries to move away.
let us be more vigilant, otherwise we will pay for ourlives more and more as its happening in pakistan.

what was the attack on the local trains and bomblast in Mumbai and Kashmir? Was it not attack on humanity? Just because you could see the shooters it does not mean the gravity of the situation changes. We Indians are dumb and are going to be minced by the growing Muzzi population. Remember they were 7 percent at the time of partition and the cancer has grown to 20 percent. Be afraid... very afraid.
