Does it make any difference to India?
by Prashant B on Nov 12, 2009 02:21 AM

Those are americans and they are interested in persuing american interests. India should try to behave like an independant country which has independant ideals and interests rather than getting bullyied by either china or US. Self respect, self confidence and self elevation is important if you want to grow in this world.

Whats secret, indian succeeding abroad but fail at home.

I wonder these indians when work for the india where goes their intelligence ? They produce excellent work when work in west. When in india the mind slows down. Whats reason. We should find out.
One reason of course is the team in india u get to work with is ego mainiac, self centered. People dont know how to sacrifice thier need, interest for the achievment of common goal. In west you get team attitude from people so doing great work becomes easy.

Gujjus regard them as a special race and underestimate other Indians everywhere. They think that Gandhi has booked seats for them everywhere, I've a doubt, if they get positions in the Moon too.

Make Indian as the head of UNSC
by Aryan on Nov 11, 2009 05:23 PM

instead of all these small gestures, President Obama if really wishes to have good relations with democratic India that can prove to be a strategic partner, ally and a competent force against P0rkistan and china, should first include India in the list of permanent UN security council and make an Indian its chief.

This news should make every Indian think...
by Globalcrusador on Nov 11, 2009 03:13 PM  | Hide replies

Frankly, I was quite humbled when Prez Obama appointed Dr. Rajiv Shah to this high position. He has appointed several top American indians to top positions based purely on merit. Why is it that in our wretched land, nobody with merit is able t come up because it is ruled by fakey considerations like caste, creed, backward class reservations, a manhoos from Mumbai telling you can not work in Mumbai because you are an outsider and all such nonsense. When will India be governed purely on the basis of merit, a criteria that will
apply to all uniformly, including the manhoos ?
I wish all Indians would pause for a sec and rethink. Where are all these reservations taking us to ? A boy from a forward community gets 99% in his final exam but can not get the course of his choice at college just because it is reserved for a backward guy with just 45% marks and the latter gets it.

And the irony is the student from the backward community after getting the elective of his choice finds the going too tough, after one quarter and drops out, leaving the seat un-utilized finally. In such a scenario, how are we offering equal opportunities to all our citizens ?

Govt can consider reserving some percentage for merit also. By the way whats the big deal about "merit"? It is not the prerogative of a section of the society.

by chintan jhunjhunwala on Nov 11, 2009 11:57 AM

what pride is it for indians to have an american of indian descent holding a post in obama american administration.why everything the americans do get such attention when they themselves are sinking with half a million people losing their jobs every month and scams being unearthed every day and a coulpe of banks failing every week.is this also an achievement.

I believe that "American Indian" means who is Indian by birth but resides in America. As America is a country of immigrants, people used to call American Indian, African American etc...But that does not mean that they are treated separately or ignored!
