Great article!

Wish Indian Politicians would think more of National Interest than Pleasing other countries. It is the Theme Of congress to say - we will retaliate if this happens again. We have had attacks with regular frequency. They cash in on the short Indian public memory and release another statement saying we will take so and so action - Action that is never taken! Statements that are repeated at every attack.

Indian Leaders should be sued
by deepak on Nov 02, 2009 09:54 AM  | Hide replies

Most Indian leaders esp from the Congress should be sued for:
1. allowing the partition of India
2. Leaving behind Hindus in E & W Pakistan without securing their safety.
3. Allowing Hindus to be driven out of all of W Pakistan Sind Punjab Frontier Kashmir
4. Allowing Pakistan to degenerate into a terrorist state whereas inviting Paki artists and others over to India.
5. Allowing madrassas to spring up all over India.
6. Suppressing the history of Genocide of millions of Hindus in E Pakistan by Pak army and letting the Pak army free.

not friendly. but secure.

i agree that calling pakistani citizens our brothers is overdoing the gesture bit. A little like Hindi-Chini bhai bhai. However, absence of friendship does not imply enmity.

India needs stable and secure borders. For this we need to move beyond our current "pakistan is a hostile state" status to something more neutral and tolerable. We need to be prepared to wage hot conflict, if necessary, to ensure peace. For too long we have allowed Pakistan the option of bleeding us through proxy conflict whilst mouthing platitudes at international forums.

I like PC's statements that India will take action if further 26-11's are repeated. India needs to demonstrate that we can move beyond statements to action, to protect our citizens and our interests in South Asia.

Most of the things that the writer has said are true & logical.

Peace is a proposition only with sensible people and time has proved repeatedly and beyond any doubt that pakistani people, military and politicians have no semblence of sense. They are driven by an over-riding feeling of jealousy, hatred and competition towards India.

India needs to become strong first and then negotiate peace from a position of strength.

Manmohan Singh has so far done right things generally. He must take a position of strength against pakistan and be aware of the treacherous neighbour.

Overtures of peace are acceptable anly as a eye-wash if military poistion is continuously being strengthened behind veils.

negotiate... are you kidding... pakistan is a terrorist factory and all the terrorism in the world is directly linked to pakistan... and the only solution is to send pakistan back into the stone age... that is where they belong...
