Alike Biju Patnaik, who was wonderfully tactical in his young days, Naveen Patnaik had proved that he is the able son of Biju Patnaik. But here he failed and he failed miserably, unless he has a plan to come back later. There are still lights as BJP has kept its options open. Biju Patnaik was an ardent follower of Congress till he realised where the country is going and then he went against congress. Naveen should understand, what is the future of this country and no third front or regional party can contribute in any major way. It was suicidal to break the alliance. Pyarimohan Mohapatra is a very short sighted person as he was always a bureaucrat and not politician. He can not think from a politician's angle. Bishwabhushan Harichandan should be promptly thrown out from BJP for today's crisis. His pseudo-ladership has been killing BJP in Orissa and unless it is rescued, BJP will disappear from Orissa. It is still a very big question, why BJD did not arrest Radhakanta Naik!! I think Sonia Gandhi had a major role to play here. Knowing her proximity to Navenn Patnaik and Naveen knowing that Sonia is quite ruthless to apply Article 356, he might not have dared to arrest Radhakanta Naik. But that has initiated a very bad episode in India's future.

People of Orissa need a party of their own to correct the long negligience of the state. Naveen has the support of Oriyas. No Modi no Advani no Sonia works here.

well you cannot get prospered with the help of communists. See where is Bengal now, it is a place for slumdogs. Now Orissa wants to get to that place. Great for its leader.

The Nationalists are for the Nation, the wellbeing of the people. But when the people themselves do not want to be well what can a well wisher do?You can cook the food & serve the hungry, but if they are simply dumb enough not to eat(and yet crying for hunger) what can you do? Only God can save such idiots.

Be clear here. The one who get 20% of fixed minority votes are not nationalists.I am not talking about them. These 20% minorities are faithful to either Middle east or Vatican and not to India.
I know you try to confuse a valid point I raised.I am a practicing hindu, and I can assure you that a lot of hindus are simply dumb carried away by emotional issues. And that is why even after torturing hindus for more than 850 years (both muslims & Xians) still enjoy unconditional & absolute benefits in hindu majority coutry, provided by hindus. But then I will say, hindus are around since beginning & have cultivated a big heart.May god wish someday majority hindus will decide to wake up & care for themselves.

Case & point to my comment. The writer of this article seems to be good looking & intelligent yet she decided to be a slave to foreign authorities.I am sure she would be very much troublesome to her own family. Why? only God can give the answer, or may be my judgement is wrong that I thought she is an intelligent being.

Congis have shown throrough & professional anti-national behaviour since Neru's time. Ind*ra Gandi even perfacted it; and yet they have been forming govenments.Sometimes even so called educated holding high professional degrees support these anti-nationals.The political leaders like Charan,Mulayam,Laloo,Pawar,Gowda etc. very sensitive about their pride, easily surrender to Gandi's feet and accept inhumane insults for the sake of little money which they would make anyway without supporting congis.
This is why Congi win..
20 % minority by extreme apeasement(Shah Bano,Haj subsidy, special treatment to Missionaries, etc...) 10 % gullible Indians base their voting on emotional issues like race, religion, region, gender etc. 5% buy out corrupts using national wealth.
All these are destructive for the nation & a rational analysis of post-independence India will explain it.
All they need is 35% popular vote to get ruling majority. Those who deeply care for the national well being, and want to defeat Congis,Psudo-Congis & Reds need to actively neutralize these 3 groups and this is how it can be done.
1. expose minority apeasement & its illeffect to as many people as possible. 2. Educate gullible folks about being misguided which is detrimental to the nation & ultimately to themselves 3. Create social embarrasement for the corrupts.

He cannt become PM of this country. It is shame on BJP's part to project the tainted (not only corrupt but blood stained ) leaders as PM.

@maanamulla first of all you seem to be a dravidian tamil pest. secondly you seem a member of killing cult of mohammedd. you are doubly dangerous. u should be sent to pakistan or to ltte so that india is rid of u.
Naveen Patnayak's decision to part ways with BJP is an unambiguous reflection of the fact that LK Advani is not the kind of the person that the allies would be comfortable with. He probably suffers the disadvantage of being subconsciously compared with Vajapayee. Of course, it is an unfair comparison. Regardless of their political affinities, every political leader did find a degree of trustful comfort while dealing with Vajapayee. The same thing cannot be said about Mr.Advani. He has his strengths, though. He is a great organizer and his perseverance can lead to building great things. But somehow, all his strenghts have been overshadowed by many other people in the party. Narendra Modi's ability to define the vision for the party, tactical superiority of leaders like Mr.Jaitley, have come to sort of cloud the stature of Advani, rather than adding to his standing. Further, the nation has moved far further ahead from the days when a large number of voters could be swayed in one direction or the other by emotional issues like religion, social inequality and the like. A leader now has to possess the ability to cobble together a coalition and hold it toghether. There is no place for arrogance. There is no place for corruption- at least for the coalition leader to command respect from the others- who are essentially corrupt and always after having their share of the spoils for having come into the coalition. All said and done, the chances of BJP seem to be really melting away.
Re: BJD's Strategic move
by sekar pandian on Mar 11, 2009 06:25 PM
You have analyzed beautifully. The chances of BJP is already melted to critical-point from where recovery is impossible. BJP has to go for social reform work for at least 10 years before they think of power and money.

why not 50 years of ruled congress? why not dividing rule of congress? inough 5 years , economy..so so, but sure 6000 people dead(in future yet to see... hope lote of terror camps and bagladeshis already in for vote bank politics, still want to raise congress?, i am not saying BJP is best but its not the party which sale india to others!. whatever change central power this time whoever may come but not congress. WE NEED CHANGE.
It's not a master stroke. It's a master blunder by Naveen Patnaik and the BJD. BJD has a vote share of 27% in Orissa. BJP has 17-18% and Congress gets 34-36%. CPI(M)'s vote share is 0.71%.
Now Congress will sweep both Loksabha and Assembly elections. Both BJP and BJD will be losers. BJP's major loss will be in the Loksabha elections while Naveen's major loss will be in the Assembly elections.
