Dear Such Jano-- aapne such hi kaha hain.Correct remark about settled Indians in US. ppl settle here with all comforts of life, all requirements met,no hassle no corruption on small matters. In fact no harassment to meet routine demands of life. From US, they talk tall about India, love of the Nation,Motherland etc. All persons who are living without problems will tend to speak good abt anything.Let them settle in India and ask them abt patriotism, love of motherland etc, you will find remarks are fading and a sense of distaste in expression. This true of all my Us friends (Indians settled in US).

Truly a legend
by Arindam Sengupta on Jun 19, 2009 07:23 PM

From one of the linked articles:

Ustad Allaudin Khan used to train his son for 18 hours every day. "And he kept that up till he was one hundred years old. For my part, I think I really began to understand music when I was fifty -- that's when my actual training started, and I am still learning," Khansaheb says. "And the day I get the real swar, I will be free of this learning process," he adds.

This was Ustad Ali Akbar Khan - now you know what made him a legend.

BTW, his family details do not mention his surviving children from previous marriage, notably Ustad Ashish Khan.
