strategic policy to solve different issues.....
by heaven on Jul 27, 2009 06:12 PM  | Hide replies

What is needed right now...and thats a proactive Govt., is to strategically decide what problem needs what kind of handling?

Instead of going all out and waging war in one's own country where thousands of innocents will also be killed, leading to more angst amongst the common people.
Lets segregate and decide what specific action would be required for a particular problem and create a task force headed by an unbiased Indian who will ASK, and demand results!!
All problems cannot just be blown away by guns and bombs and killing! Its after all our own people!

So far different things were tried by govt and may be this also can be tried.
1) Govts tried to tackle the issue by developing the Tribal areas by constructing roads, constructing schools, hospitals and so on.. So wt did Naxals did? Destroyed the roads, destroyed the schools and hospitals and didnt allowed the Govt people enter into it.
2) Govt called them for discussions and agreed for certain proposal, what they did? They recruited more and more people and went back to Forests and started attacking the Police and ohter things.

So may be this is another try.

One man's hero is another's enemy in any war. This is an eternal truth and world has to go on. Innocents, martyrs, victims, murderers are all words with relative context

Congress loves terrorism, secessionism & naxalism.
by panini on Jul 27, 2009 06:10 PM

Just look at the few military problems which arose during the Congress rule since 1947 due to their inept rule.

1. J&K Problem in 1947 which has taken life of so many brave military heroes since. It later led to terrorism in J&K in the mid 80s which Pakistan gave ample support to.

2. Secessionism in the North East. Almost all the states of the North East are facing secessionism. Remember all of it arose during the Congress rule.

3. Terrorism in Punjab which was started with Pakistan help.

4. Pakistan building Nuclear weapons while the Congress party watched helplessly.

5. Naxalism is a problem which started in the 1960s. At that time Congress was ruling West Bengal & the center. Now China & Pakistan have taken its control.

6. LTTE problem. Their inefficiency to settle the Tamil problem in Sri Lanka led to formation of LTTE.

Just see yourself what this Congress party has gifted to this nation in their rule since 1947. They gave problems to the nation & that problems which are very very serious & have no solution in sight.

we are to blame....
by heaven on Jul 27, 2009 06:08 PM  | Hide replies

Its all our short term politics which has given rise to the Maoist or 'naxal' problem....

Our political establishment has steadily ignored the tribals, and over a period of time even ignored the persecution of the backward tribals of the region. The victims, did not know where to turn to and embraced the 'naxal' movement thinking they finally have the strength to fight back. Its all our own creation!
It needs attention, and development of the tribal belt; we can then win them back!
Go MMS..!!

Its REDIFF cooked story to make public believe that Congress serious on internal security. Its political game palyed by REDIFF which is mouth piece of Congress. No wonder if Congress supports Afazal during next general election to get Muslim votes.

Do we have the information?
by Sugata Ray on Jul 27, 2009 06:00 PM  | Hide replies

Expectedly, the Govt. considers maoists as the most serious security threat now and wish to wipe off every single sign of them from the Indian soil. The 'problems' of the Maoists are largely different from other separitists problems that the Govt. has because the Maoists do not ask for a separate state or a small piece of something. They talk about the complete state power, following drastic changes in political, social and economic directions. So, this becomes a core fight - a fight between a strong neoliberal state and a radical communist faction. It is a fight of principles. Therefore, Manmohan Singh and Kishanji cannot survive together by sharing a piece of cake. Consequently, it would be a mistake to consider maoists as just another terrorist outfit, who can be just 'adjusted' in. They have an ideological backup far superior than the known terrost groups.

The point is that all of us have the right to chose. Some may prefer capitalism, some not, even among the communists some may stand for armed revolution while some not. Therefore, hatred towards maoists can be a very logical personal feeling for many and obviously most of the readers here falls into that category. But, do we really have any proper information about Maoists, their area of influence, their ideology and demands, their resources? Do we know what Salwa Judum is, what is the situation of the vast eastern Indian region, what the Govt. and bureaucrats do there? May be it is time we try to know the truth?

The Paaki-Cheeni Role!
by Ram Sharma on Jul 27, 2009 05:55 PM

Maoists and Naxals(as also the Bodos,Nagas and Valleyites) get weapons and cash from the Paaki-Cheeni Axis of evil!

The back of the Maoist/Naxal movement can be broken if:

# The Central govt makes up its mind to do so!!!!!!!!!

# Simultaneous operation is launched in ALL the 200 odd Maoist/naxal infested districts by about 2 lakh men of the paramilitary forces.

# The State police cordon off these districts during the operation.

# No political/media/human rights groups interfernce.

# Back up of armed helicopters, tanks, artillery ,ambulances, medical teams available. ( The first three to be used only when and if required, inescapably)

Go ahead, our sleeping govt-it is already TOO late!

by Sandy Sandy on Jul 27, 2009 05:55 PM  | Hide replies

reason all tendency of our dirty political system, if central and state govt are not from same party.
P Chiddu(Congi) had mentioned sending more troops to CG which didnt happn as CG is running by BJP it was d same when BJP (NDA) was in centre and congi was rulling in CG.
and d result is always same as lost of policemen have lost there life without addicate support,
best would have been if there would be a rule that every minsiters or politicians's
son/daughter must have to join army or loice atleast for 5 years till there fathers are serving then they might take all this maoist problem seriosly.

Well said. First these politician's will not do anything to stop the arm supply to maoists and wait until they are fully armed. Then they start this drama of war where thousands of lives are lost. Many a times sophisticated weapons have been supplied by Delhi companies. It is very interesting.
