Meanwhile elcheapo chiny people will sit and find out ways to make their own thingamajig weapons and try to play kabadi with us around our LOCs.

We will sit looking west for gems falling from hillary or clintons mouth that we are such an advanced sh!t of a country.

Military doctrine
by ojama on Jul 23, 2009 06:24 PM  | Hide replies

India has no Military doctrine or Strategic culture in matters of security. The annual budget earmarks certain outlay for defence purchase and the purchase policies are Adhoc i with out any relevance to the ground realities in our external security situation. The result is nepotism, rampant corruption and substandard procurement practices.Even after the Military debacle with china in 1962, scant attention is given to the continued chineese threat and its india encirclement posture. Why at all the detrimental Defence pact with US was signed. The UPA-II owes an explanation to the people.

Is a Gandhian the right person for Defence

Maybe a strategist would have been a better choice. Maybe a Pranab Mukherjee would have been better.

I describe two people below:
1) A teetotaller, highly disciplined and also if I recall correctly, a non - smoker.
2) The other, usually woke up from sleep in late mornings / early afternoons, smoked Cigars, drank large quantities of whiskey almost daily and failed close to every academic exam he undertook, till he joined Sandhurst.

#1 is Adolf Hitler.
# 2 is Winston Churchill.

When it comes to India's defence, it may be better to have a dark performer rather than a white non - performer.

Please don't compare with George Fernandes, I am not talking of a living fossil with rocks for brains, when I mean a dark performers.
