Mother ''Telugu'' sobs for what is happening in AP!!
by mallaiah anchoori on Dec 11, 2009 08:03 PM  | Hide replies

Yah!Congress has really messed up the entire issue & landed itself in trouble-rather knowingly. Its decision is bound to have several far reaching consequences & it is a matter of deep concern that, immediately, even before complete hours are over from Chidambaram's announcement,a spate of demand for 5 separate states has poured in.It is incomprehensible as to how Congress political 'pundits' failed to foresee such repercussions which could be guessed even by a common man.The supportive observation in this news item saying -"after all the three regions have different cuisines, different ways of speaking the language and also regional rivalry" is incorrect. The first two factors are no matter at all & can never be a ground for pleading for separation;even within a district of same region people have different cuisines, talk in different ways with different accents/slangs for various social & historical factors. But the most commonality & bondage that should keep all the people of state for which sacred reason alone "Vishalandhra "was formed in 1956 united is the Telugu language.Food habits of Guntur people differ from those of the Godavary people.Like wise the slangs in the spoken language vary again from Krishna to Guntur despite their being neighborly districts. Accent of Karimnagar people differs from that of Mahabubnagar/Wgl.There is no regional rivalry as perceived by the author. Can any one imagine as to how much "Telugu"mother is sobbing for what is happening between its sons?

See Telangana Beyond Caste, Religion, Language and Politics

It is NOT a matter of seperate Nation at all. It would just be ONLY a new State in Union of India. Abiding to its Integrity and Sovereignty.
Telangana was a seperate state in independent India from September 17, 1948 (after Police Action) to November 1st, 1956.
It was a seperate state in India for 8 years with seperate Chief Minister before merger with Andhra to form Andhra Pradesh.
The States Reorganization Commission (1st SRC) was NOT in favour of merging the Telangana region with the then Andhra state. Para 382 of States Reorganization Commission Report (SRC) said ".. public opinion in Telangana has still to crystallize itself. the unification of Telangana with Andhra, should be based on a voluntary and willing association of the people of Telangana ...".
The region had a less developed economy than Andhra, but with a larger revenue base, which Telanganas feared might be diverted for use in Andhra. They also feared that planned dam projects on the Krishna and Godavari rivers would not benefit Telangana proportionately even though Telanganas controlled the headwaters of the rivers. Telanganas feared too that the people of Andhra would have the advantage in jobs, particularly in government and education. So, Think
This issue should be left to the Discretion of the people of Telangana.

Congress ka_jawab_nahi !!

If some one has to learn politics it has to to it from Congress. The sheer intelligently they gave away and that too so suddenly even KCR would have been surprised !!

But that was the plan, get the heat of their back. Now once again it is seen that Andhra and Railseema are stoping it and that they will.

So AP will keep on fighting amongst itself rather than focusing on development with passions poured from all sides !! While Congress High Command will say i did what i could...

Some one please learn politics from Congress !!!

Autonomy
by pradeep amin on Dec 11, 2009 07:38 PM  | Hide replies

The Indian Union is an disaster. Autonomy for states is the best answer for a healthy Union of Federal states.People from south must engage in a healthy disscussion on Autonomy for their respective states or else sooner or later the HINDI way of life will dominate them. It has already started with the wretched Bollywood movies.

Mr Pradeep, you are right.

In fact, if the pre-independence Indian leaders had agreed to the plan of an umbrella democracy as proposed by the Cabinet Commission, then mush of India's current problems would have been solved - including the problem of Pakistan, because the country would not have been divided.

However, Nehru's desire for a strong centre (to enable him to rule over the whole country) and the insistence of Patel for a unitary country put paid to that possibility.

Now, we are fighting among ourselves - OVER AND ABOVE PAKISTAN!!

Appeal

Last few days the state has witnessed a lot of political drama that led to violent protests and resignation of political leaders. One can see emotional outbursts on either side (Telangana Vs Samaikyandhra) resulting in damage of both public and private property. A shocking point to be noted here is the hatred that people show against other region as evidenced by the usage of filthy language on public forums and elsewhere! Here we are not discussing the pros and cons of separate telangana state; enough of arguements from either side are available on web sites, news papers and continuous analysis on news channels. One thing people might have forgotten is that they are all Indians first whether they belong to Andhra pradesh or Telangana; why should anyone show so much hatred towards other person based on geographic location? Separate states were formed in the past and no hatred exists between the regions, why should telugu people become part of dark history? There are certainly ways to discuss the problems and solve them keeping the best interests of people and nation. Fundamental questions need to be asked by everyone regarding credibility of questions/objections raised by the leaders on either side. Why not we stay united as Indians and face together problems due to natural calamities and terrorism irrespective of whether we belong to telangana or andhra or rayalaseema? We also request media to make responsible statements instead of adding fuel to fire at this sensitive moment

If we all belong to India, then why this movement, fast and all other drama-bazi for creating new states? Why don't we think about India and stop thinking about the elusive Telangana?
