by Common Voice on Nov 29, 2008 06:43 PM  Permalink

Dear Indians! Its time to wake up and remove all these politicians. They can't protect our country. I am requesting to every qulaified Indian to come forward and take the responsibility to secure our India. Why we Indians are targetting every time. Are we toys? Somebody is coming from sea route and making all these stories. It is easy to write in this box but difficult to do it practical.

Therefore, I request to every Indian stop balming each other and come forward to fight with this terrorist whether it is ISI, Al-Qaeda, Dawood, RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal, BJP, Sanghvi, Purohit, LeT, Indian Mujahideen etc.... We united we all .... We divide we fall...

A very wrong approach of the Indian authorities
by Vishvaksenah E on Nov 29, 2008 06:41 PM  Permalink

Beloved Bapuji, father of present day India single handedly fought against the might of the British Empire and gave us freedom through non-violence.

Cant we emulate him?

A bunch of young gentlemen tourists came in a boat and did some childish pranks in Taj, Oberoi, Trident, Nariman House and other places.
It would have been great if our leaders had responded in a Gandhian manner.

Hon.President, Prime minister, UPA chairperson, Home Minister, ,all the secular ministers, chief ministers etc.. could have gone in a procession to these places singing 'Ishwar Allah tera naam" .By this brave action, there would have been a change of heart in the minds of the young men who came by boat.
They would have immediately joined these secular Gandhians.
A golden opportunity to show the efficacy of Gandhian method to the present world was completely lost.

If this secular Gandhian approach had failed to bring about a change in the minds of the young gentlemen who came in the boat, and they did some childish action against these secular leaders of the present India, it would have been a relief to the entire nation.
Let us remember Bapuji !
Let us live for his ideals !
Long live Gandhigiri!

Long live secularism!

Tailpiece:
All said and done, this entire episode will be forgotten within 48 hours.
Two days from now, the secular leaders are going to say that the attack on Taj,Oberoi and other places were planned and executed by Saffron / Hindu terrorists.

LEARN A LESSON
by JAGTAR SINGH on Nov 29, 2008 06:20 PM  Permalink

LET US ALL LEARN A LESSON FROM THIS BARBARIC AND COWARDLY ACT BY THE SO CALLED TERRORISTS. THEY HAVE VERY WELL TAKEN THE ADVANTAGE OF THE PREVAILING SITUATION AND WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN MUMBAI FEW DAYS BACK WHICH EVERY BODY IS AWARE OF. LET US NOT GIVE THE EARLIER SITUATIONS TO ARRIVE AND FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISM AND AVOID PLAYING DIRTY COMMUNAL /REGIONAL POLITICS SO THAT ALL OF US CAN COME UNITED AND NEVER ALLOW THIS TYPE OF SITUATION TO REPEAT....

What triumph
by Guest on Nov 29, 2008 06:14 PM  Permalink

We all need to understand that the bravery of all the people- the police, the NSG, MARCOS, the Army etc etc needs to be saluted. But in the process of saluting the bravery of these men and women, we should not forget to highlight the total ill preparedeness of the forces- and for that matter even of what we call the elite special service forces- the NSG and MARCOS. In my opinion these forces went into the action as if fighting a urban war and not a rescue or hostage situation. Do not get me wrong. The bravery is applauded, not the tactics. There are so many weapons- like gas bombs, flash bombs, pepper bombs, chloform bombs etc- and any military or defence expert will give you a big list which could have been used to neutralise (not kill) the terrorists and maybe also save hostages. The amount of firepower that was used in the Nariman House encounter right from the begining indicated that the forces were acting as if there was no hostage situation. It was for 3 nights so stalth night tactics could have also been used. Cut off electricity to the building, make it pitch dark- use night vision goggles, thermal cameras (things that you see being abundantly being used in nighttime wildlife videography) so that the terrorist sees nothing and you have a much better view. There are so many stealth techniques that could have been used to help save hostages and if the hostages had already been killed you could have got the terrorist alive- that would have been a prized catch- to help you

what triumph??
by john d on Nov 29, 2008 05:49 PM  Permalink

what triumph are we talking about??? the real triumph would've been if we had preempted the attacks or caught these guys before a single life was lost...
their motive is to create fear & panic and even a single blast or gun shot is enough to do so!!
we may have incidents like these in the future too..
and the difference here is the "attitude" between us and them...
they (the terrorists) always know their job and always do it...
we supposedly know our job, but always fail to do it!

You sound no different from Raj Thackeray.. he's a scumbag.. but so are you.. why do you now want to point out the fact where the commandos came from? It wasn't you fighting the terrorists was it? FYI, the three bravehearts from Mumbai Police who died were Maharashtrians.. and the commandos were fighting to protect not just Maharashtrians.. but how does it even matter? They were all Indians.. maharashtrians and non-maharashtrians.. even the non-Indians! Islamic terrorism is a global problem.. and it won't wither away till we don't attack its root -- Islamic fundamentalism and indoctrination!

Its Amazing
by Logically Speaking on Nov 29, 2008 05:16 PM  Permalink

Its amazing how so much hate is being spewed here by supposedly educated people without even asking accountability of our Indian Intelligence services like RAW and IB. Irrespective of their name or religion these guys professed, they were terrorists. But how did they get in and did what they did? If I keep a chowkidar (security man) to safe keep my house and my house gets burgled then I will definetly fire him and hire better ones.

The Aftermath
by Atul Srivastava on Nov 29, 2008 05:06 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

The latest attack by terrorists in Mumbai is a glaring example of the disintegration of internal security within the country. The way they have unleashed terror with impunity is quite alarming. The collateral damage caused is also quite terrifying. Sometimes it seems that a weak Central Government comprising of various factions is unable to curb these terrorist activities otherwise how it is possible that repetition of such incidents is happening in India. In New York after 9/11 nothing took place. There was no repetition in London, Madrid and Moscow also. If these things are allowed to continue then it will project India as a weak state who is unable to purge these separatist elements. We should praise the security forces for the way they carried out their job but on the other side the politicians should be made more accountable for their deeds like servicemen because such a well executed plan by terrorists would have not been possible without help and assistance from inside. And politicians from small and fringe political parties can stoop so low to achieve their objectives. On the other hand Israel’s criticism of India’s action is unjustified. In Israel most of the terrorist actions are based on ‘give and take’ basis. Here the objective of terrorists was to do as much destruction as possible and they did not waited to kill people. In the end no hostage came alive from Hotel Taj. At Entebbe, bargaining and assault preparation was going side by side.

Atul, I agree with you that the politicians have to be made accountable for their deeds, whatever they do, whether it be; the amount of money they use for any development project or any decisions they take etc. They should be made to remember that they are supposed to be merely the representatives of people and not decision makers themselves. Question is, is there a way that we can force them to publicly give reports about each and every rupee they spend. Can we collectively find out a way for this? Our politicians seem to be fully outdated to understand the needs of todays modern times but instead surely know how to make profit for themselves at whatever cost the country has to pay.

The problem is that most Indians are dishonest in carrying out their jobs - here the Intelligence was sleeping. Dishonesty has permeated all levels of our society - from the top politicians to the milkman who adds water to milk and sells it for our children. Thats the problem. Rest we can blame all but things wont improve.

Mr. Atul,
It is not very clear, what you want to tell. On one hand you are citing examples of New York, London, Moscow, ehere there are no repetition of terror attack. On the other hand, you are criticising Isreal for their comments. Are you praising our goverment for the way they are handling the terror issue? No it ia fashion in India to have a bomb blast here, a kidnap there and evrytime it happens, our brave Home Minister tells that stringent action will be taken. Do not compare Israel and rest of those terror suffered countries with India, for those who had suffered terror attacks have woken up and called a spade a spade. Only in India, we are talking about terrorism has no religion, despite numerous attacks on our soverignity from that particular religious terrorists.

Pledge
by sushil jha on Nov 29, 2008 05:02 PM  Permalink  | Hide replies

I do not blame any one, neither rogue elements of ISI, nor Pakistan, nor LeT, nor any Terrorist nor Indian Intelligence or Cops. “When u have a hole in boat, don’t blame water for drowning”. Our biggest "hole" embedded in our social fabric is not having confidence in Religion, Community, Caste etc with whom we share the air and space. The insecurity in us, forces us to vote for politicians, who could be advantageous to “Our People” rather than person who could be “Best for country”. If I belong to elite, well off strata of this country, upholding democracy is not my responsibility. It has been irony of the nation that democracy has been burden on Middle and Lower class. Would be nice to know, how many Indians sitting in those five star Hotels have voted for even once? Surely, the number would be surprising. Equally Intelligencia, have known to shouting on non-consequential issues in media, but not charismatic enough to have drawn people to use democracy as a tool for betterment of life and society. We are “hole” in this society, who has created Politicians, Bureaucrats, Elite group, Intelligencia who have failed to raise the life of “Common Man”. They have been too busy for their own benefits. In this moment of tragedy, when my heart goes out for people like Maj. Sandeep, I also prey that people of this country arise their faith and belief in the way they want to run the country. Lets have our inner strength clear before

before we blame some on else. The solution to the problem is simple than what people make it to be complicated, and its when we all say “I pledge to be better citizen of a democratic society, a better individual and Indian to core”. I say So…..DO YOU??
