WILL DR ANBUMONI RAMADOSS WAKE UP PLEASE
by Senthil Kumar on May 31, 2008 03:44 PM

Will dr. anbumoni ramadoss wake up please. Guess he should stop barking at film stars and start doing some thing constructive like providing health care in govt hospitals.

I Guesss he is busy chasing the "Moni" in his name rather than do nything constructive over the past 5 years.

Recognition to Arvind Eye Hospital, Tamilnadu.
by Khadar Mohammed on May 29, 2008 02:06 PM

Few years back I read an article by a journalist (if I am not wrong it is in Readers Digest) about Arvind Eye Hospital which is serving poor and rich equally. Even the paid patients and free patients get same treatment. There is no difference. Dr.Venkataswamy wants to eradicate cataract and wants to sell cataract operations like McDonald's pizza - at such a cheap rate(/0. However, the main drawback to fight this is talented and trained medical professionals. Even though Arvind Eye Hospital trains professionals still lot of such people who are having kind heart like Dr.Venkataswamy are needed to serve the poor people living in villages. Hearty Congratulations to the Management, Staff and other members of the Institution for getting such an international recognition.

India and the World needs more such people .. who work for helping and serving mankind ..

I wonder why the selfish politicians and terrorists and other such people do not think and act in such constructive ways :(

The power of brainwashing and greed I would say :(

Good work Aravind Hospital
by Rajalakshmi on May 29, 2008 01:21 PM  | Hide replies

Good to see people establishing an eye hospital and helping the people with low cost. It is good that all the hardwork is recognised now by such donations.

The public too should help hospital mangament and other patients by KEEPING THE hospital CLEAN!. They should refrain from throwing wrappers, fruits skins and pits, bottles around and should not spit in public places.

Hi
mostly the hospitals are clean nowadays, as people feel they are into a unknown place and tend to follow the rules atleast while they are there...

Basically i think it needs a pure heart. And, Mr.Venkataswamy (my father had gone to him for treatment in 1960s) was a cheerful and nice person, dedicated to the cause and not money minded.

Thats the difference between the rich business person establishing a hospital and people like him.

Must be a very good hospital
by arun singh on May 29, 2008 01:13 PM  | Hide replies

I have never heard the name of this hospital before. And now it winning an award by a truely honest foundation, I am sure it it must be one of the very few best insititution in India. Media did also never promote this hospital earlier, and that is another big indication of it being really very good hospital. Otherwise, most of the time, media focuses on hospitals like Apollo, which I know personally is one the most corrupt hospital in India. More bad than average government hospital.

Hi Arun
This is a well known eye care hospital in tamilnadu, along with Shankara Nethralaya, which is in Chennai...Thats why i think the Aravind did not have a unit in chennai, as already there are many good hospitals there.

It opened in places where there was a need for the same.

Generally the media does not highlight good things in life...
