THE FACT IS NOT CORRECT: IF THIS PROJECT IS BUILT: 1) SHIPS WILL PASS THRU THIS CORRIDOR INCLUDING ALL INTERNATIONAL SHIPS AND SRI LANKS WILL BENEFIT MORE.
2) NOT ONLY THE NATURAL BRIDGE BUT ALSO THOUSANDS OF KILOMETERS OF LAND UNDER SES HAVE TO BE DEEPEND TO ACCOMODATE THE SAFE TRAVEL OF BIG SHIPS.
3) HOW WILL THERE BE DEVELOPEMNT OF TAMILNADU.

Forget security aspect, even technically it is not feasible to take big ships through this 'setu route'. Moreover, except ships heading to Haldia port( Calcutta) , no international ship originating either from Cape Town (South Africa), Zanziwar (Tanjania) or Aden (Yeman) will use this route due to route inconvvenience.
Though I am a muslim, Ram is our ancestor & we are proud of his character. Indian govt. should protect the Ramsethu & hence safeguard the feelings of not only Hindus but also non-Hindus like me. Let me make it clear that the muslims like me have the history of only last 1500 years. Since Ram is an ancient figure with great character, this is an issue of national heritage & not only the heritage of Hindus. BJP has no business to hijack this issue. Ram belongs to all & not only to the BJP/RSS.
Some of my muslim brothers have questioned my identity as a muslim. I feel pity for them. I can say with evidance that my ancestors were not norn in West Asia & they were the local people here. Why should I believe in the Adam theory? I believe in Islam & I always try to link it with spirituality & peace. Let us use RamSethu as a bridge between our present & our past. I strongly urge the people not ot make Ram marginalised to a specific religion. Let us treat him as a national figure.

I appreciate your feelings. Other than religeous feeling, Setu Project is neither economically viable nor ecologically sustainable. ultimately the people in Tamilnadu coastal area adjoining to project will suffer, once the project gets completed but remain 'dysfunctional'.

yes rehana you are correct people are making it a religious issues which they shouldnt. irrespective of our cast and creed we should protect what is there in our home. both the parties in support and opposing it are for there own interest only. why do Indians want to destroy a beautiful structure associated with us for more than 5000 years even if they dont believ that its not RAM made still it deserves to be there coz we are attached to it.

I agree. I recently came across an interesting report from Karnataka daily - in two villages the Moharram is celebrated by Hindus, even though the few muslim families which lived have left the place and are no more residing there.
The Hindu youth of the village pray on these days to Allah.
What we need is tolerance, love and mutual respect for practices of other religion and at the recognize that all religions are different paths to the same Supreme power. When one has this realization, there is no need for converting anyone.

Nobody is compelling you to believe in Adam theory. You must not proud to be a follower of a relegion of 1500 years histroy. But I have sympathy with you not because you are aware of ancient history, but because you are believing that the stories and myths as real and protraying a portion of sea and land as holy and don't do anything even if it is beneficial for human beings.
