White man's world
by manoj on Feb 27, 2008 10:49 PM  | Hide replies

In the white man's world if the black man succeeds then white man will change the rules of the game.

If the black man comes up with excellent inspiring ideas then white man will say that - this is not the black man who is thinking but it his brain which is thinking- so in the end there is no credit to the black man.

calling a spade a spade is not racism. Rajeev is a flaring writer. One does not have to agree with his analysis. Any one who supports a reservation on the basis of caste in India is the highest racist in the world.

How is that calling a spade a spade?? His piece doesn't have the least bit of objectivity in it. He trivializes the complexity of a democratic election to the difference between how racist America is vs. how sexist. This guy is completely clueless about American affairs. Hillary was the presumed nominee for all of 2007. It is only in the past month that Obama has overtaken her and claimed a lead nationally. This is complete bull! So is your agreement to this crap.

This article very well summarizes the underlying mood in USA and reflects the pulse of the population (not just people in blue states).

When Bill Clinton Became President
by prakash kumar on Feb 27, 2008 09:30 PM  | Hide replies

When bill clinton became president he did not have much experience except for charisma.Would rajeev asked the same questions about bill clinton. Leadrship is all about inspiration. If he can inspire people, people will come up with solutions and get the job done

Prakash,
For your info, Bill Clinton was the Governor in Arkansas state, and he served 2 terms. That is a very good experience as compared to Obama who only had been a Senator from 2004. Prior to 2004 he had been in the Illinois State but wasn't known at all to others. Rajeev is 100% right in his article, but only thing I may not follow is why Hillary may loose against John Mccain. I can talk like Buddha/Jesus, but does it mean that I am Buddha/Jesus. And by the way I am a Very Attractive North Indian looking Bengali fellow who can give fantastic speeches like Swamiji/ Netaji in English/Bengali/Hindi/Urdu. So do people would consider me as another Jesus/Buddha appearing again to offer compassion. Hillary has
a very good Track Record as her husband was one of the best Presidents, who always counted on her, don't forget that.

Eh? Was that a column or a rant?
by on Feb 27, 2008 09:17 PM

With all due respect, Mr. Srinivasan - that column reads a bit delusional!

What that article taught me: How to write a news column -
1. Include a spy story (Is Obama a Manchurian Candidate?)
2. Throw in some unsubstantiated rhetoric (Obama is all sizzle and no substance)
3. Garnish a little hero worship (Clinton's plans have more "workability")
4. Add a few obvious facts (change cannot happen overnight, Saudi petrodollars will not vanish suddenly)
5. End with a totally tangential "crazy talk" (How about Al Gore?)

I mean, you really think the Democratic convention will elect a leader who has not been on the ballot after one of the most evenly contested primaries in recent history? Not to mention the whole "woman against black man" contents which is winning the democratic party some major PR brownie points.

Sorry, Mr. Srinivasan, this article on your personal blog might make for an interesting glance, but on the national portal for a major news outlet for Indians worldwide it reads, as I mentioned before, delusional.

Rediff Editors: Please proof read for craziness before you authorize publication of articles.
