Simran Kaur Mundi will represent India at the next Miss Universe contest, Parvathy Omanakuttam will represent India at the Miss World contest and Harishta Saxena will represent India at the Miss Earth contest.

The next demand from Raj will be that if the contest is held in Mumbai then only Maharashtrians are eligible for the contest. How could a Mumbai girl be Miss India if she is nt Marathi.

If the contest is held in Mumbai - everyone can participate but yes girls representing Maharashtra and Mumbai should be Marathi.
The other girls can represent their own states. We will keep our Madhuri's and Urmila's and you can keep yours.
Indian states should be very strongly and rigidly based on language origin.5

Mumbai's Population is around 1 Crore 50 lacs out of that 40 lacs are from UP & Bihar and another 50 lacs are from other parts of india.You should not surprised if one miss india get selected from that 90 lacs.Altough capital of Maharashtra Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city from the very bigining.80 % lawyers fighting for Raj are from north. You are not understanding his stance. RESPECT LOCALS.Do something for KARMABHUMI.Dr.Amartya Sen gets NOBEL because he has aligned himself with Europe , no doubt about his caliber but thought for a while could he get that being an indian citizen.
A Kaur from Mumbai and a Saxena from Goa! What is happening to India and Indians. It seems that we are finally intermixing with people of other states. When a person is no more restricted to His/Her state for education, job and settling down that is when India will be truly integrated. The Thackerays are hopelessly out of date and out of tune.

We always have integrated, only no one commented on it and the Bal Thackerays of this country were not heard of. Then cheap populistic politics entered the scene and fired up the mediocres who do nothing for their home town but will not let others do anythign either. This is the typical Indian attitude that makes us vulnerable to foreign infiltration and weakens our society.
the winner is my friend...havnt met her...but chatted with her on yahu...she was on my orkut frnd list...and currently on facebook list... she msgd me b4 going 4 this event... congrats simarn
