The reason all this started was due to the linguistics based carvings of territories during the formation of our nation. If those leaders had a little bit of foresight, this shouldn't have happened.

You would only end up putting blame back and forth. Imagine a situation when it is not by linguistic basis. It would have been even worse. This is another cowardice statement like British is cause for todays India-Pak problem. Face the reality.

What if it wasn't based on a linguistic basis? Our separatist traditions go way back and we were always busy infighting in form or another. But the fathers of the freedom seriously wouldn't have expected that the separation based on linguistics would add fuel to the fire.

Karnataka Vs Tamilnadu has become boring and too frequent. We need to have more frequent and other less related state disputes. Hey Rediff, how about some more inflammatory articles on Kashmir Vs Himachal, Kerala Vs Karnataka, Andhra Vs Orissa, Bihar Vs Entire India. That would be really fun and we can have more linguistic and nationalistic chauvinists in the forum

Sameer, know the history and then talk. Every state has some issue or other with the neighbouring states. Maharashtra and Karnataka are still having issues with Belgaum.

What is important is the need of sane politicians with a bit of patriotism and spirit of unity to solve all issues among the states.

So, do not make stupid statements and justify Raj Thackray.

In peace at Bangalore? Its like elephant spraying sand on its head. Bangalore is no far from loosing its charm, potential, investor friendly. Its polluted everywhere till deep into the people's mind. I was in bangalore for few years, and I wouldn't say i was enjoying my people around.

Kaveri is a reason to bring up such frustration. Let Tamilin to work and keep quite. We have no prob for tamilians to work in Karnataka. But let them shut their trap and work their. Go to HAL / GTRA etc . All filled with Tamilians. If same hapense in Maharastra / Delhi etc what people local will do.

Take up the issue to court. This cannot happen not only in Bangalore, cannot happen anywhere in India. Don't tell lies like this and spread hatred. Good chance you may not be a Kannadiga.

So.. that doesn't give you any right to take law into your hands.

It only shows Indian laws are not strict in dealing with hate crimes.

How many times you went into a trouble with Tamilians when Tamilnadu and Kerala face issues? Millions of Malayeels live peacefully in Coimbatore, Chennai, Nilgiris, Nagarkoil, Kannya kumari, though we have issues at more than one place regarding Water!. what made you to say as Tamil are emotional?

Where have all the democrats and the so called saviours of national integrity, the big North Indian and South Indian think tanks from god knows which ever part of India have vanished?
Why don't they now howl on the streets of Delhi,Kolkata,Bengaluru against what is happening in Karnataka? Why innocent Tamilians are being targetted?
Why don't the Bhayyas from UP and Bihar stop the proceedings in Lok Sabha?
Why don't the bloody third rated Bhayya channels show continuous footage of the atrocities committed by the Knnadigas?
Where have all the sharmas, shrivastavas, mathurs,Pandeys gone?
Take it from me,we all Indians are alike,so don't blame the Maharashtrians for what happens in Mumbai.

This Article is bulls hit and full of lies
by sony kalloor on Apr 02, 2008 10:39 AM  Permalink

The article is full of bull shit and i pitty the editor who allows such distorted facts. There was no f - all riots in bangalore in 1992 . Please do not terrorise people and create division amoung people. I lived in bangalore in 1992 . There was this news that one of the greatest and most loved kannadiga of all times was kidnapped and people were shcked and ran to streets. emotions ran high for a day and returned to normalcy by the afternoon of the next day. I dont thing any thing more than the mumbai rains hit the city . Yes there was a very tense atmosphere . Cars Autos and few shops were belted stonned. Before or after that i dont think there was any harrasment by kannadigas on any sect of the population. I am sure this time the BJP is trying some 3rd rate polictics to instigate. there will be no impact of any sort . unless the media and politicians play dirty. there is no undercurrent or kanndiga movement in karnataka who can mobile more than a few hundered people to all these non violent and intolerant ways. This is one of the most friendly people in this nation . And thats why it continues to be the most sought after city in india when people want relocate to work even NRI's. I have been here as a non kannadiaga. So please dont tarnish these popple like monsters !
