Why not Ganguly?

Ganguly should have been in the team instead of Sachin. Ganguly is more reliable.

Ganguly after so many years of international cricket, can still not play on the leg side or on bouncy pitches. The way he played in the final ODI against England was a classic example of his abilities, it seemed as if a school boy was playing against professionals. I just hope all Ganguly fans atleast see this limitation of his, and not just go blind on his batting. He was never a good Test batsman, and even ODIs he played well till 2003 only, after that his batting has been disastrous, please do not forget to see the stats for the last 4 years before anybody comments anything.

Mind your language Indo Maratha! You have no right to say that! Here are some more instances of injustice to Bengal players -

1. Dilip Doshi was sacked unceremoniously by Sunil Gavaskar.
2. Arun Lal was not given a decent chance. He was dropped after 1 or 2 failures while gavaskar was persisted with in spite of many failures.

3. Sardnindu Mukherji and Utpal Chatterjee were not given adequate chance. They were the best Indian spinners on scene at that time.

4. Deep Dasgupta was better than Kiran More. He was not given a chance.

5. Manoj tewari is a better batsman than Uthapa (Uthapa is a fluke). He was not chosen in the team.

I like Bengalis for their talent and determination.
I have a respect for Bengal culture.
It is good to see so many Bengali singers rocking all the musical programmes like Saregamapa and Inidan Idol.
Jhulan Goswami another Bengali girl has become best cricketer judged by the ICC.
It is a pity that the only captain material Saurav is kept out of captaincy.
There is no harm in giving responsibilities to people who deserve it , irrespective of his region, religion or language.
Ranadev Basu should also be given chance while so many non performers are carried along by the present Captain Dravid.
Forgive me fans.

I am sorry I called Romesh Powar Kala Bhains.

I called Rahul crossbreed and that Kannadigas cannot be relied upon.

I express my heartfelt sympathy and unconditional apology for my remarks like this.
I admit that I have done a great mistake.

Actually I smoked one potful of Marijuana and then finished one full bottle of country liquor.
Under the spell of these intoxicating things I ccommited an offence.
Please forgive me Rahul lovers and Romesh lovers.

Why then Indo Maratha is putting the word Maratha in your name your regional purselifter, chased by police, jailbird you criticise others.

Fully Agree with you, bharat. Look who was the chairman of this selection committee? None other than Sachins' godfather Sunil Gavaskar. Obviously his selection was a foregone conclusion.

Ganguly is a much more valuable player in onedayers compared to the selfish Sachin. Unfortunately, Bengal players have been constantly subjected to humiliation and insult. Actually Ganguly is a better player than Sachin in all respects. It is the politics played by the Mumbai mafia that has enabled him to earn superlatives as a player.

come on guys the above ODI team is selected for accomodating players from all countries and not based on their potential to represent mother earth. Actually one should name an all aussie 11 instead of forcefully fitting in players of insignificance for the sakee of representation. In a worse case scenrio for the sake of wome amount of representation I propose the following team

Hayden, Gilchrist, Ponting, Kevin pieterson, chris gayle ( total lottery),Hussey, shaun pollock, vaas, shane bond, brett lee, murali, boucher 12th man ( incase gilly is ruled out due to injury)

It is no surprise to see the name of tendulkar in the ODI team as the selection commitee is headed by none other than Sunil Gavaskar. Sachin is a good batsman. He is certainly not great or some times touted by the so called experts as the greatest this game has ever produced. Shane warne ranks waugh as low as 26 in his list of players. One look at the career of waugh will reveal that he has beeen equally good at winning the matches for ausssie aswell as saving crucial ties. Aussie dropped steve waugh and made punter the captain of the ODI at a time waugh was still playing at the top of the game. They obviously wanted to send a message out that there are players at better suited for the limited over version of the game in australia at the moment of sacking waugh. Hussey, watson etc are such players to emerge. Needless to say aussie never got carried away by the stature of waugh but were clearly looking ahead. Sachin on the other hand is still persisted by the indian selectors for his past record. It is obvious for even a layman to note that the little master is cleearly at sea when it comes to the rigerous demands of limited over cricket. It is high time sachin calls it a day from ODIs or he needs to be sacked. Sacking sachin would send a clear cut message to everyone concerned that the Indian cap is a precious commodity and can be donned by the very very best.

Suresh, get a life, go learn about cricket before you comment. YOu are comparing steve waugh and Sachin. Steve waugh average with Bat is only 32.90 with a strike rate of 75.91. You are comparing him with Sachin who has an average of 44.5 with an strike rate of 85 . YOu should be insane. By your logic i guess you will say 100 is great than 200.Infact steve waugh himself said his team(australia) lost to sachin(not to India). Has any team player ever got this compliment from anyone so far? Steve waugh in his last 20 ODI matches scored only 4 fifty and no hundred.Out of 4 fifty scores only 2 resulted in Australia winning match(One match was completely won by bowlers mcgrath 9 overs 3 maiden 19 runs and 2 wickets, gillespie 9 overs 5 maiden 20 runs and 3 wickets, warne 7 overs 2 maiden, 16 runs and 2 wickets. Show me for the last 20 years in ONE SINGLE MATCH when 3 Indian bowlers gave less than 20 runs. Ask the australian team to play with our Indian bowlers like Agarkar, Munaf, RP singh and R Pawar. Lets see if they win a single match. Australian team wins matches coz of team effort. indian team win mathes only when there is extra ordinary performance from an individual(Mostly its from Sachin). First learn the cricket game as team game before you talk about sachin. England series is the best example to know about our Indian team. Only whenever sachin scores heavily with a 100 partnership in opening pair we will win matches

Waugh may not be as good a batter as sachin but he inspired a team with his gut and determination. I wonder what Sachin does to inspire the team India

I am sorry, I don't agree with Tendulkar sacking as he had been playing brilliantly and he seems to be at his peak. But yes, the marathi lobbymen like Vengsalkar needs to decide on Agarkar and Powar. Is Agarkar and powar better than sreesanth and harbhajjan? On what ground, you select agarkar in every series as automatic choice for selection? Also, Dravid should learn from mistakes. In lords, what is the use of playing 2 spinners, when the pitch is so fast. He takes wrong decisions too many times and many times het get away. Is chandyu borde fart always or give suggestions too? If not, then pack him and appoint a person who can open his mouth

If any one applies for a job outside India, the person is assessed on the C.V he submits rather than how much he is doing well.

Thats why people always say.I am an expert but didnt get through but some other person who is 1/10 experience of me got through.

What people say westeners wont agree they put in bin! What the person writes in the C.V they agrees.Past records made the trick.Well all know Sachin wont be that much player! like when he was 18!!.Can any one in India near his record, if so can they stand and speak up I am better than him.

No one is needed to break his record or come near to it. But it they can manage to play better than sachin even at this age(34) then definitely he will be a good player if not the best. Out of the four series sachin has played so far after the world cup(Both ODI & Test) sachin is the highest run scorer in 3 of them and just 35 runs less than the highest scorer in Eng test matches alone. In bangaldesh Sachin was the highest run scorer in test. In Ireland sachin was the highest run scorer. In Eng ODI Sachin highest run scorer.

Which very clearly says still he is the best amoung the bunch we have.

Sachin found place in odi from his past performances and reputation. He does not deserve that place from his recent performances. Since the advent of sachin, I don't think india has won any major tournament equivalent to WC OR the famous WSC Series in 1985 in Australia, when ravi shastri won the man of the series and the AUDI car. Tendulkar's presence has not brought any luck to india. His bank balance has swollen exponentially but indians are bereft of any notable trophy. This jinx can only disappear the sooner he retires.
