Left and TMC both are resposible
by PALS WEB on Nov 10, 2007 07:13 PM  | Hide replies

What's the actual story?

People are fighting for their land. Even if they do then that's illegal as per India's law. They only can ask for better deal for their land. Though Govt declared that they are not planning for SEZ in that area. Still the fightings are on. Why?

Haldia is going to be a famous city in future because of industries and the resources. Nandigram is near to Haldia. So for any future expansion the people in Nadigram will gain huge profit. If they are fighting against Industrialization then that's not correct. Some educated people will think that why you are setting up industries on the agricultural land?

IN WEST BENGAL more that 90% lands are agricultural land. So you are forced to set up industries on agricultural land. Don't compare with rocky Andhra pradesh. Also i have seen poor farmers. They are not very happy with their earning from their agricultural land. Intellectuals from WB have been saying that left are not doing enough for the state. They have destroyed industries. Now who is against industry?

November 2007 - CPIM is trying recaptured the villages. Things have been happening for last 11 months. CPIM supporter are forced to leave their village and homes because TMC supporter / Bhumi Rakhsa Committee has captured the villages. Thousands of people are living in camp. Left govt asked Center's help. They tried to discuss with TMC and Mamata. There were proper environment when Govt declared that they are not going to take land for SEZ. Eve

Is Rediff.com also ruled by the CPI(M)?
by angshu jajodia on Nov 10, 2007 06:56 PM

It seems that Rediff.com is also ruled by the CPI(M): 8 of the 9 messages posted till now have been reported for abuse - all because they had a slight hint of political colour. I hope we still live in a democratic country where we have the right to speak out, as Rituparnoda has rightly said.
Other Rediff.com users will bear testimony to my allegation: please check and see the messages reported for so-called 'abuse'. You will find that they are neither irrelevant nor contain explicit content. Their crime: they decry the present political situation in Nandigram. How long will this Nandigram go on?

Stuck between the left and middle and the rights
by uday on Nov 10, 2007 06:55 PM  | Hide replies

India is a lost case democracy.....democracy has made us one nation but has crippled our people internally throwing misery to millions for happiness of a few thousands......has democracy lived to its expectations for Indians/?

The left and congress are bitter rivals in Kerala & WB. The rule of these 2 have made Kerala a bankrupt and backward state in terms of progress although its people are most educated and have progressed in other parts of the world and country.....in WB the left have been ruling like an autocratic government (blaming Mushy is a joke) for 40 odd years and have left the state battered and poor in spite of its abudant potential......

The Congress has played the Sakuni's role and ruled roost in India.....its a pity.....

The most ironical na I would call it funny situation is that the Leftist leaders who profess athesim control the temples of kerala for their funds and propogate their stupid princples in the religion.....well however they are scared to talk about Muslims and Christians....

India needs new blood, new direction and new vision....

To begin with we need to get rid of these garbage politicians sooner or later....

Jai Hind

Absolutely true Uday ! But let us not curse democracy for all the ills. It is our shortsighted leaders who did that. People like Rangarajan, Ahluwalia, Chandrababu Naidu, SM Krishna and Modi ... would help this nation. Let us pray for the best !!!

You are absolutely right! Bengal used to be a prosperous state, but the rule of Leftists and Congress has reduced both Bengal and Kerala to bankruptcy. In both these states, agriculture and industries have suffered drastically. Now after 60yrs of damage, the marxists with their new-found love for capitalism, have woken up to the need for industries. The SC has ruled that agricultural land cannot be acquired by the Govt by force for industries.

Who will raise the Voice?
by Narinder Bazura on Nov 10, 2007 06:51 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Rituparno
Who will raise the voice for innocent killing in the Nandigram by communist party people? Ruling people are busy with Narendra MOdi and BJP. BJp people are responsible for communal riots.Im nandigram violence is not a communal violence. It is just fight between people and the ruling goverment for land. Let them die. Becuse land is compulsary, otherwise they have to return the money. Our PM and President are peon of Italian lady. If she think, this is going wrong, then somting can be done. But she is busy with grooming of her son for the post of next PM. If any body will take action then they will pull the Govt. Now the ruling Govt has two option either save the Govt or save the Nandigram People. Ithink govt is choosing the first opttion. Leave the people with the GOD hope.

Dear Bazura,

I am absolutely with you. The Central Government will not take any action action Bengal State Government because they need the support. There is no value for humanbeing, humanity has been gone. Just like a GUNDARAJ, if you have muscle power then you will be survived but for the poor people nobody will come-out openly from Bengal becuase thereafter they can't stay there peacefully. Those who are against CPI(M)they will destry them. It's HITLARISAM.

(ardh-satyagraha)
by Sandeep Mukherjee on Nov 10, 2007 06:45 PM

The intellectuals have lauded the satyagrahi governor for his bold stand on nandigram . But I feel that he is an ardh satyagrahi! because he has resorted to half truth. he and the other intellectuals had nothing to say in the last one year when 3500 CPm supporting families were hounded out of nandigram by the murderous goons of trinamul, maoists and jamiat e islam. they had nothing to say when the local MLA was dragged down and assaulted fron a bike. they had nothing to say when particular journalists were abducted and assaulted. its only now that they have a lot to say .. and they cant stop talking ! thats always been the way with our partisan and sensation mongering intellectuals lacking any true depth.

WB is a fit case for president's rule
by viswanatha seshadri on Nov 10, 2007 06:40 PM

The governor's public comments on the failure of law and order in the state should be taken by the centre as a valid governor's report on the matter and the union cabinet should decide on bringing president's rule in the state, before matters become worse. The leftist MPs of the state should also be challenged by the congress and the bjp to resign from parliament and seek reelection to confirm the state's confidence in them. Incidentally, this would also terminate the leftists' devil-dance on the govt proceeding with the nuclear-energy deal wth the US.
