Blair is 56 Years
by Sayed Hamza on May 11, 2007 01:43 AM  | Hide replies

He has decided to retire. Our Advani is 80 years old and wants to become prime Minister. Joytho Basu is 90 years old and wants to become president. Vajpayee 83 has just retired from active politics. Hopefully our 'Youthful' leaders like Manmohan (73 years old) will allow some one young to run next time.

Hope our leadership reflects our demographics so that they atleast live long enough to see the results of their decisions

Unless we are prepared to cast away our baggage and have a new and positive outlook, we cannot expect the younger generation to feel comfortable to take the plunge. Frankly, nobody is preventing the young to come forward. The older gen is there by default, just like in cricket.

We have to have fresh thinking, not the one step forward and two steps back. China's is always in "great leap forward", which has the whole world wonder struck at their economic prowess. Many here believe they will falter, to say later that " I told you so". But, at least they are trying.

Good PM
by Srikanth on May 10, 2007 09:55 PM

Dont judge merely by policy on iraq. No PM could not have avoided continuing the english policy of being a US client state. And Saddam, though a friend of India, was not a saint. All blame goes to Bush.

I wish all Leaders of india were like Mr Blayer
by Akash mrr on May 10, 2007 08:22 PM

Tony Blair was really a charismatic and was stood for the country , compared to our leaders who making benefit for their families growth by encouraging the hatred between indian people by the name of religion (BJP), by the name of Cast (B.S.P,S.P etc) . The leaders of other parties also not diffrent currepted, and selfish..(R J D, Congress, etc), looking to strengthen their Bellies.. I wonder when our People will gain the knowledge and to understand this selfish leaders and know their true colour That time only India will Emerge as Super power otherwise still India will Branded as Developing Nation!!In UK the govt always is secular and they are giving the cahnce to workers with their performance and not wiht looking foe their race ,religion etc.. there is Equal oppurtunities for every body . So I am suggesting our so called innocent leaders to look not only to develop/ improve their belly but to look for growth of a Bright India. Also if India want to be really developed the divission among us (by name religion & cast) to be stopped. then only we can see the true developed India By social and tolerant nature otherways even god can't save our Mother Land or India can see in world senario like Ruwanda, Bosnia Genocide

Irresponsible Rediff
by sunil kumar on May 10, 2007 07:45 PM  | Hide replies

Why the hell rediff is publishing messages without moderating them. There is no use of moderating once it has been published and read by thousands of rediff reader. Some hatred and communal messages are being spread using this India's top web portal. Owing to its large number of users countrywide rediff should post comment only after moderating it and filtering wrong content. If they can not do this they should stop messege thread. Otherwise rediff is equally responsible for spreading hatred .

I wonder whether these Hate messages have the tacit approval of Rediff management.
Tony Blair's Iraq policy does not have support even in the UK,but it is a sad day for the Indians as Tony Blair and his wife are known for their soft spot for India.

Tony Blair was Clinton of UK !!!
by Sunit Kumar on May 10, 2007 07:01 PM

I would say Tony Blair was what CLINTON was to US. He not only brouht the failing economy up, he opened gates to UK for Technology workers from India, which is still a very easy country given the restrictions.

He pressed on OUT SOURCING to India, inspite of extreme critisim from his people. He was the one recent British Visionary who said that its only EDUCATION EDUCATION EDUCATION that will take Britian forward.

Even though taking into account the historical context with India, he ensured a smooth trend of British policy tilting in favour of India.

Finally if it was not Blair, there wouldnt have been Mittal, without Blair's help, Mittal wouldnt have been able to purchase the biggest East European Steel company, which enabled Mittal to purchase Arcelor.

I wish Tony Blair all the Best.

Thanks a lot Tony.

Tony Blair a Friend of India
by asokan a on May 10, 2007 06:32 PM

Tony Blair will be remembered long for his friendly attitude towards India. The Iraq misadventure aside he is a fantastic leader.
