RE:method of selection

The selection process seems to be full of flaws. Thses are given to mostly pro-Government people. This has utter disregard to real contribution in their own field and to country / people in general. But the real issues is that no government is exception. So lets learn to live with it or do something more than writing columns. Best Regards....Rajat Mahajan, Noida. 91 9810508771
I am unable to understand why she when the whole case and her involvment in the case, i mean the controversial part isnt clear yet. or is it? Shouldn't the government have done a background check for her?

It is in the fitness of things that persons like Teesta Seetalwad were recognised and rewarded for the yeomen service to the cause of justice, there personal motives notwithstanding.

Teesta Setalvad is the epitome of communalism. She is the horrible face of sectarianism and intellectual-fundamentalism. Always funded by the Congress, including the likes of Digvijay Singh-ex CM-Madhya Pradesh, she promotes the dubious cause of Christian Missionaries and Global consumerist forces. She is anti-Bharatvarsha. Her role in Gujrat became hillarious with astoundoing support of Narendra Modi by nationalist people of Gujrat. Her anti-people designs were defeated. ....She has been given Padma for being in line with PM Manmohan Singh's aims to debar Indians ( Hindus) from country's resources, and Sonia Gandhi's obvious penchant to support the punder of Indian people by Global Marketeers. ...... Giving the Padma to Indra Nooyi, chief of worthless and harmful Pepsi, is also on the same line.

the list includes names like k-singh, vohra and n kumar who have achieved nothing in the last fewyears. none from police , forces and very few from sports have been included .the list should be more broad based rather than pro-govt names. NARMADA ANDOLAN, ENVIRONMENTALAISTS, SICIAL WORKERS WITH POOR MUST BE ACCOMODATED
Hearty Congratulations to Knoeru Hampy who has taken the prestiage of Telugu people to great heights in general and of Women-folk in particular.
We are proud of you for achieving this at a very young age and am sure you would become an idol and inspire the youth of Andhra Pradesh to achieve and bring good name to their state as well as Country, Mother India.
How can Teesta Setalvad get a Padma Shri. She is known to have contacts with traitors and terrorists. She has been accused of harassing Zaheera Sheikh. How can a terrorist and India hater get a Padma award?? The governement should reconsider the award.

I dont think zaheera was a traitor, keep urself in her position and think why she did what she did. In a country where witnesses are not given proper secutity and who are blackmailed by anyone and everyone for anything, what can a common man do? She is being punish for changing her statements and not for being a traitor. Keep ur eyes, ears open along with ur brain. people who dont fear there life for justice, honesty, tr welluth are very few, its easy to talk but not so when it comes to act.
