But Selvakumar might have a point
by Ramakrishnan Iyer on Jan 11, 2007 03:21 PM

We claim to have the largest number of science and engineering graduates in the world. But tell me, how many of them have made original contributions to their respective fields? We take great pride in the fact that our kids score 90, 95, 98 and even 100 percent marks in their exams, but how many of them go on to become leaders of knowledge and thought? I am sure all these people who are baying for Selvakumar's blood, M/s Suraj, Amar Nath, Prashant Shambharkar et al too encourage their children for the same. The number of Indians who make original contributions is miniscule, as compared to our counterparts in the west or even other Asian countries, such as Japan. It's plain and clear, we just take great pride in repeating what is already known and then pretending to be smart. True genius lies in reaching out into the unknown to make it known! May I extend my congratulations to the ISRO technicians and scientists, but we must realize we have a long way to go. Let us have the courage to see where we are, instead of indulging in self congratulation, like the Pakistanis and Arabs. Cheers!

DRDO delays
by Amar Nath on Jan 11, 2007 02:14 PM

Congratulations for the teams that made this a reality.

Its amusing to see how people react to any crticism. we should understand that guys who criticse are no less 'patriotic'(whatever that is supposed to mean). DRDOs history will known. CAG pointed this earlier. To have a glimpse, read what the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence and our defense minister has to say:

Hope Antony has something up his sleeve to put things in track. And guys, even as we congratulate, lets not loose our critical eye.

Mr. Selva Kumar an a Idiot No -1 of India,
I want to ask u one thing, that what u doing in your life?
What & how much u knows about ISRO???
And I want to compare you against Bill Gates,
Because u has same brain same like as Bill Gate got
Then why he is on No 1 post in the whole world?
And why u r on No%u2026?????
Bachche paida hote hi kabhi baap banneka khwab nahi dekha karte..
Indian scientist are going stapes by stapes, They are not only dreaming for India, They are actually working for it,
If you are really educated guy then u doesn%u2019t have to compare Indian scientist against US or another developed countries scientist, (but I don%u2019t think so that you are educated and sophisticated guy)
Just I want to tell you that%u2019s you are only thinking negative about Indian scientist,
Tell me what you done for yours own life?
Indian scientist working for nation
What you done for India???
I don%u2019t think even you are a TAX payee also%u2026
Shame On you, I think you are really mentally seek person.
