Pitiable
by satish nayak on Feb 01, 2007 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

It is very pitiable. Everybody has to condemn if innocent person is tortured whether by police or anybody. It should come in our blood. It is not just religion, caste or country.

I have been in U.A.E. for the last many years. I have never come across an innocent person is tortured by police here. The people love to stay here because of the law and order.

Since UAE follows the Shariah laws, it is clear that you want India to become a Shariah state. I suggest that you go and live permanantly in the UAE.

Ah ha! So you do want Shariah law in India and actually justify it as a humane law. About the Muslims getting tortured in India by the lakhs, it appears that you have been filling your head with too much Al Jazeera and too less reality.

Muslims and human rights are two words which shouldnt be said in the same sentence. Any muslim wants death to all non-muslims. Some of them show it. Some of them dont.

The guy that made the video IMHO has nothing in mind except making his own money. Teetsa et al that he is assiciated with works with an NGO that is funded out of Gulf. So the motives of hte movie are doubtful. The kid is wearing a bow tie. Very unnatural. Looks like most of the people were given dialogues to repeat.

This is a very condemable act on part of the security agencies, weather its indian or any other ,especially asians.I feel its lack of proper/moderen training as security people think torture is the best & easy way to force some body to admit some thing security people want .
In All innocense proved cases, concerned security persons should made to pay componsation to the effected persons, only then they will be more humane.Or they should be tortured by the effected person the same.

FACTS
by Ram on Feb 01, 2007 06:33 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone world citizen, know what is happening in the world rightnow and what is the root cause.

The day will come, when all the world religions will be put under maximum litmus-test, to show it in actions (JUST ACTIONS) rather how theatrical, diplomatic you are in preaching abt your particular religion.

And the litmus-test would be to show how much tolerant you are to other world citizen, how much you respect him to co-exist, how much you respect that other person can have a different religion, other person can live on his own lifestyle.

Trust me, the religion which fails in this litmus-test will be annihilated and their atoms will also not exist in this atmosphere.

Remember DDT killed mosquitoes for some decades and now what is happening..mosquitoes favorite lunch/dinner is DDT. DDT in this context is left to your perception.

But let me tell you, world is being patient and patient and then one day says...shut up, lets put a test to see who fails.

Bottomline is this message is for any human-being who is supposed to use religion as a tool, to learn good things and respect other human-being's faith and life-style...but should not be theatrical by saying something theoritically and doing all animalistic things practically (shame, on their religion...strip ur self of that religion and be non-religious or try the religion which has good things...ofcourse to do that..ur original religion has to accomodate a clause in the holy-book that..JUST BE WHAT U WANT TO BE)

GROW UP...

This wasnt a Hindu/Muslim issue as some of the commentators here are fallaciousy trying to depict this article to be. No where in the article is it written that he was tortured because he was a Muslim. If that was the case why was he tortured in Bangladesh. It shows a plight of a being Indian Kashmiri who is vulnerable to suspicion in India for being a Kashmiri ,and in Bangladesh for being an Indian..

Action of one one does not substanciate anyone to reach any conclutions about the community. Do you how many Kashmiris are there in the World? and how many of them are actively involved in terrorism? How would you feel if tomorrow police picks you up and torchers you because someone murdered somebody in your city? You didn't get the point. The guy tortued was a muslim and the guy writing this article is a muslim. Do we need to say more? Did you know that "imran" who is caught in Bangalore is also a trader from Kashmir? So don't think these guys are innocent unless proven. And looks at this guys statement, he says 12 days of indian torture is worst that 40 days of bangladeshis torture. Do you know why?

u have to get the meaning of being a bigot. the world knows who bombs innocent civilians. and collectively they dont condemn their own bombers and jihadis. so they are suspects everywhere. when they cant respect their culture and civilisation and rules and regulation of their motherland, who is a bigot. Michael, U have to reflect more and find out who is the affected party.

I strongly condemn the authorities for this shameful act. Instead of winning the confidence of people, they are into such shameful acts which brings down the reputation of the world's biggest democracy. I have read tragic stories of harassment to Kashmiris. I request them to treat Indians as Indians first and not as muslims or hindus. No muslim is a terrorist by birth or no hindu is pious by birth. They are made by the circumstances. We are born in a country which respects human values more than any other country in the world. India is a most beautiful and peaceful country to live in. Let's not allow this pride slide away with such acts.

Hello,
Having lived in US for 10 years, I feel a lot of similarities between Muslims living in India and African Americans known as "Blacks". Both when caught having done something wrong, will resort to lamest argument of all invoking race in case of blacks and religion in case of Muslims as being a reason of their so called "persecution".
Any wise man will call it "Victimisation Syndrome"

u r slightly off...
Race is by birth...religion is by choice.
Followers of Islam CHOOSE to follow the Quran.

One can show sympathy towards an African American for sometimes being discriminated against (not all the time but sometime) for something he has no control over.

But follower of Islam do things willingly by choice and conviction, often resulting in distress to humanity. That is unpardonable.
Many a times Muslims who dont follow the Quran are victims of it too as much as NON-MUSLIMS are

We Indians must realise that what happened to Mr. Dar is very very wrong but nothing is written in any bodies face that he is terrorist or not. So when any body comes in any doubts regardless of HINDU/MUSLIM or Area wise Police will do there jobs. Hello Rahim,
I am not a Muslim, I am a born Hindu I love a Christian and my best ever friend is a Muslim, yet I don't practice any religion, I am not happy to what happened to Dar. What irks me that he has to show his comparitive solidarity to Bangladesh rather than being thankful that a court intervened to India to let him out. Dar's statement is inflamatory and he should be taken back into custody for disturbing peace. We have rarely seen orders of the court disregarded or overturned in India, but these are common practices in Islam dominated countries; no wonder most of the Islam are without real democracy. All in all, see the amount of hate, mudslinging and mistrust a statement has invoked!!!
I read every post before I am replying only to you. I have only one main observation. Our Prez is also a Muslim, the erstwhile chairperson who has helped India in its nuclear might and who had risen from the grass roots. But he is one of the propenents of India. Like wise there are many Muslims who are from India, for India and by India. As a society who have the right to co-exist peacefully, why can't we all joins hands and expel these radical elements. It may seem at first that more muslims are being hit, but that is because of the social inequality. No matter what religion a person practices, he should be a proud citizen of the country and the only pushiment for plotting against ones country and society should be death.
If you go by facts and statistics, may be 80% of the world terrorism in being committed by followers of Islam. I do not say they are Muslims only because people like them do not belong to any religion - they are plain human machines whose brains are controlled by the these 'world hated' Islam clergy. I have been staying in the Gujarat, Bengal, Maharashtra, UK and USA, so I know the sentiments of most local people in these regions. They very much echo the voice we are reading here today. Many Muslims are themselves responsible for their plight which they try to balance my shooting into prominence using subversive methods. A good thing does not need force for recognition. Paradoxically the lost (misled) followers of Islam are trying to establish their identity with force.
Can people like you, who can think rationally, and yet be a muslim help us breach the divide. After all, we have the same blood in our veins. I have not seen Ram, you have not seen Allah - but I am writing to you. So what is more important???
I hope people who care to read my post take me kindly. I don't find it necessary to answer to lunatics like Syed who dwells on lores and not on facts.
