As Enablers of Indian Manufacturing Capabilities
by Ramesh Nittoor on Sep 02, 2007 11:26 PM  | Hide replies

Coming after the G-4 Security Council membership non-starter, this new policy promises concrete convergence and dovetails well with India's Look East policy.

The currency swap agreement was its first notable success and the Rail Freight Corridor would be it most prominently visible initiative. The common security architecture being put in place seals the deepening trust relationships.

These three and other steps could herald a new phase of economic development to make India a truly world class manufacturing nation.

As we move past mere ideologies, even these not so well formed Haiku efforts may convey the hint of spring ahead!

India and Japan
by on Aug 31, 2007 03:55 PM

We need to get closer to countries like Japan that have rapidly transformed their war ravaged economies and wrought an economic miracle. For a very long period we have been close to the wrong kind of powers like Russia, China, Iran etc. With the growing economic ties between the USA and India we are now moving away from the nations that have failed to develop economically. Japan stands next only to the USA in economic importance according to the Global Policy Forum. The power situation is going to get worse in the next few years and the only alternative is to generate more nuclear power. India should be following the example of USA and France that have taken the nuclear route to generate a substantial amount of the total power they produce. According to latest statistics India ranks 18th in the pecking order of nuclear power generation. http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/eco_eco_imp-economy-economic-importance#definition

Tell me what me want to do?

Paki has nuclear reactors throughout their Country almost all regions. We have mekdha & mumtha to prevent anything happening in hydro.

A country in its size like paki can accomodate nuclear plants, why not India can go with nuclear to satisfy power hungry requirements.

Why objections for satisfying power requirements of poor people.
When hydro coming w/ medha, mamta.
when nuclear comes with sovereignity.
when solar comes w/ dark.
when wind comes w/ water.
when military exercise comes with other options.
Tell me what to do?

limits of convergence

There's a saying, the significance of which is yet to be impressed on the brain-dead morons on Raisina Hill - "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". If India's neighbors want to indulge in activities aimed at harming her, then the idiots on Raisna Hill must learn to return the favor at least ten-fold.

There are lot of pro-paki pro-jihadi or pro-chinese agents or pro-left, roaming in these sites.

There are lot of pro-paki pro-jihadi or pro-chinese agents or pro-left, roaming in these sites. They use to tell like any development as harm if it is in India's favor. We common man argue with these people who are psychologists in reading human mind is like "INDIAN COMPANIES LOOSING OIL CONTRACTS TO A CHINESE COMPANY BACKED BY CHINESE GOVT.

What about these chinese conducting regular terrorism mechanism etc.

If we see last few years, India conducts hardly any major military exercises or any joint operations, eventhough we face lot of threats presently & in the past. These military tactics will give some couple of military tactics to India like others.

Awww, come on, guys. The CIA has spelled it out. Can't you read? India and Japan versus China in a US instigated war. That way Asians take all the casualties, and wreck their own economies. What could be better?

CHINA HAS SECRETELY ALWAYS TREATED INDIA AS ITS ENEMY
by Hiten Patel on Aug 27, 2007 10:00 PM

By:

1. 1962 Indo-China war
2. Passing nukes & missiles to Pakistan.
3. Policy of trying to encircle India
4. Having illegally occupied Indian territory in 1962 and coveting more by disputing Arunachal Pradesh.

ULTIMATELY STRENGTH RESPECTS STRENGTH SO ONLY WAY TO CONTAIN CHINA IS FOR INDIA TO BECOME MILITARILY AS STRONG AS CHINA AND secondly, ENTERING INTO A STRATEGIC ALLIANCE WITH USA, JAPAN, VIETNAM, SOUTH KOREA, TAIWAN ETC.

This is what Chinese call their exercise. No threat or no harm to anybody.
by mr on Aug 27, 2007 08:22 PM

This is what Chinese call their exercise. No threat or no harm to anybody. India also can conduct a no threat, no harm to anybody exercise. We should not be weak externally. We cannot manage internally too. We need friendship, but we should not be cowards not to defend ourselves.
