Need to rewrite Hinduism
by Saisevak99 on Dec 29, 2005 10:53 PM

Ms. Shukla should be congratulated for her efforts to portray Hinduism in the right perspective in US text books. The present day portrayal in US text books is a travesty & distortion of this great religion. Present day text books are based on writings of british writers who wanted Indians to be their slaves for ever. Who knows their religion better, the white man or the real followers of Hinduism who may not be white? Our culture taught us "Mathru Devo Bhava..." ie first consider your mother as God even before the real invisible God. We had great women who shone in both the vedic & spiritual spheres like Maithreyi, Meera, Gargi, Sulabha, Choodala, Mahadevi, Aandal etc. who are shining examples of this heritage. The present writings are a conspiracy by Judeo-Christians to make young Hindu students to feel small & hate their own religion so that they will convert to other religions. They have helpers in India like the self-styled expert Romila Thapar, who want to distort Indian history in the worst possible light. Will they dare write anything bad about other religions though they contain some of the worst incidents of human conduct?
I wish Suhag Shukla all the best in her effort

I appreciate you for taking up correcting the earlier views on Hinduism. Basing your arguments on science and technology, you indeed have the right to rewrite the Indian History. But, you know, the politicians in India, are still glued to the race theory and aryan migration, dravidian suppression, etc. Let India read the text books prescribed for the curriculum from the America and the rest of the world. India has imbibed the quality of accepting its own medicine, if only it is prescribed by the west. Thanks and greetings.

Interview with Suhag
by Seenu Subbu on Dec 29, 2005 08:37 PM

Suman, you either seem to be thick or were bent on triggering Suhag. She keeps saying the question of women's right was not in the context of discussion for other religions and so why bring it up only with respect to Hinduism, yet you go around and ask the next question
"If you are not denying that women had been subjugated then why..".

Way to go Ms. Shukla

Your efforts to salvage the perception of Hindus in California is commendable.

I pity the narrow minded people who suspect people like you to be Hindu nationalisits and try to see saffron undercurrent when there is none.

Possibly, people like Ms. Mazumdar don't want American Hindus to be united for own cause.

Congratulations to you, your team and all other organizations that helped you achieve this.
