Indian Govt. must interfere
by Pratik Ghosh on Jun 26, 2004 02:25 PM

Our Government must enquire through UN and Human Rights as regards the conditions under which our fellow countrymen are being made to work in US Army Camps. The concerned consultancies on whom these people have reposed faith for a good work overseas should be brought to book for violation of work agreement. Nobody will be willing to work in a war situation as in Iraq. And these horror tales are enough proof of Human Rights violations by US Army. Indian Governement must intervene and ensure safe passage back for these people into India and as far as the US Army is concerned the world has seen how these uncivilized army personnel have been behaving with the detainees in Iraq. India should take up the matter with their counterparts in US for immediate release of the Indians. And a message for these Malaylese people, you have resources and means to earn your living in our very own country. So stop dreaming of earning fast bucks or else you will land up in soups like this. There are opportunities aplenty in India. You go on your own at your own risk and then blame the Government for doing nothing. STOP THIS PRACTICE.

Well, what else do you expect ?
by Kartikeya Singh on Jun 26, 2004 02:07 PM

This is ridiculuous! Not that the American's are doing all this bullshit.....but the fact that we are reacting to it as if we didn't know that it was a regular feature of their occupation of Iraq!

This treatment is not surprising. I mean, take a look at how our government pleads and begs in front of Uncle Sam to declare Pakistan a terrorist state, to acknlowledge us an ally, to pat us on our back for every menial job we do for the US, to let us in on any GRAND PLANS that they come up with.......

How can we expect the citizens to be any different? They too shall carry the same awe-struck impression of AMERICANS and AMERICA and WHITE SKIN....... pretty logical if u ask me.

Education is seriously lacking here. And by that I do not refer to PCM, IIT, IIM, Phd, MBBS........ I am referring to basic human education which enables one to live with dignity and rational thinking abilities. Sadly, most of us do not have it....... as the gentlemen in one of the other messages posted said "The same malyalees who make so much fuss in India by drinking only mineral water.....".

Grow up India! Learn to live with self respect and be willing to fight it out without looking for shortcuts.

Indian Slave By American
by Lal Mistry on Jun 26, 2004 01:36 PM

dear sir

The Indian Central Government make very strong protest at heighest level in white house.

The Americans are there to protect and create better life style in the name of human right abuse, democracy and freedom of individuals. It has alway been true that all AMERCANS are self centred people. Whereever the have gone they have created living hell for non Americans. Itis time for Indian Government to take severe actions against those manpoer agencies and force them to compensate those who have suffered and returned. In the west the recruitment agencies are always paid by those who are seeking manpower. The Goverenment shoud revoke their lisence and full control.

horror tales from us camps
by R.sathyanath on Jun 26, 2004 12:56 PM

all the democracy and freedom that george bush talks
about is bunkum. american invasion of iraq is only for
plundering oil and not for democracy. indians should not go to these countries just for money. they should also take into consideration the risk factor. Both the
kerala government and central government should immediately ban manpower market conducted through travel agencies. all those who have experienced hardships should pass on these messages to bring out the gravity through pamphlets in public interest.
