Fine on Bandhs by Political Parties
by rajiv prakash saxena on Jul 24, 2004 12:32 PM

The court verdict is an appropriate step in the right direction and is most welcome. It is the common man & the nation's economy, which is affected ultimately by such Bandhs.Political parties & their leaders don't care for the nation except for their selfish ends and therefore deserve to be penalised for this.I hope Supreme Court would also upheld this decision and not reverse it.India would save crores of rupees if bandhs are totally banned for 5 years from now.

Bandhs

Dear Readers and general public of India, "Bandhs are our right" says the political parties that want to rule us.

What they basically mean is whether we live, earn or enjoy our freedom is their personal preorgative. Whether the tax payer is deprived of his income, or the daily wage earner deprived of his bread or if a hard working middle class individuals car or bike is treated as some arsonists personal property is something that these parties decide!!

After this they have the audacity to come to our houses and ask us to vote them in as well. This is basically someone coming to our houses and telling us that whether you live, earn and have your freedom will be decided by me at my free will but you select me.

I ask all of you why should we even participate in an election process where these parties are contesting in the first place. If the nation's exchquers, a poor man's daily bread and middle class individuals life's savings are not their concern then why should we be bothered to vote for them.

This statement reeks of the malice in our system whereby the corrupt overfed government officials get a free ride on the gravy train thanks to our effort and these parties.

Bandhs

There should be a bandh on Bandhs - there are definitely more ways to react in a civilised society rather than creating inconvenience to the public at large.

The guys calling bandhs should be also given prison sentence.

PROHIBITING BANDH HARTAL STRIKE ARE UNDEMOCRATIC
by R C Pillai on Jul 24, 2004 09:23 AM

Last severalyears we are getting disturbed news about prohibiting strike, hartal etc. here in India. People of India is thinking that at least we are a democratic soveregin republic and the people have the right against injustices which are being done by the government / civic and the strong powerful rich categaory who are always opposing equal particiation of workers representative for managing industries in India, such as big business houses like TATA, BIRLA, AMBANI etc. They are only looking and serving to amass wealth at any cost for which they need poor people in this country. If poor people becomes rich and poverty and illiteracy removed from the society, they cannot cheat, I repeat, they cannot cheat the poor people any more. Everybody knows that unemployement is emerging as the biggest threat alongwith poverty and illiteracy here, and these so-called people never raise any finger to remove this. What we are telling prohibiting the rights of protests are undemocratic and people of India have the rights to protect this right as well. Otherwise, there will be no difference of pre-independence rule and present rule in this country.

Sure,Every political party has the rights to protest.
But it cannot enforce others to do it.They are infringing on others fundamental rights to do business or continue with their daily lives. There may be people with totally different view of the same issue in the society.Political parties cannot force them to protest.
