I think it serves well to such poltical parties who call for Bandh for all wrong reasons. Pray Calcutta High Court takes similar stands where Bandh is every day affair. Personal Penalties should also be imposed on provocatively loud speaking politicians as well.
A fine of more than 5 crores and one year of rigorous imprisonment should have been imposed on either party's leaders for calling the bandh. This fine is too small a fine to deter them from doing it again. The next time they do something like this, they should be asked to pay the entire amount what Bombay loses as a result of a bandh and the person calling the bandh should be imprisoned for seven years - rigorous imprisonment.
This is really a path breaking decision to fine the BJP and Shivasena over the issue of Bandh imposition to the poor innocent people. In my opinion, the other courts in India should follow suit and then only the common people will get the justice. Now a days, even after banning the bandh, the political parties are impossing bandhs on the common man in the form harthals. Any way good decision and we should congratulate the High court of Mumbai.
