Scooter-riding MP
by Bharat Ranta on Aug 20, 2004 10:11 PM

It is really commendable that we have an MP like Dr.Ramkrishna Kusumaria. On the other hand it is equally bad that the media chooses not to highlight the good things that happen in our country. Why is our media obsessed with portraying only the negatives? I think the Indian media is unique in this respect. Thanks to rediff for bringing out into the open the existence of such a simple person. Best wishes to him and best wishes to rediff to continue the good work.

An MP who stands apart
by Janak on Aug 20, 2004 09:26 PM

I am rather impressed by the article MP who travels on scooter. I'm

pleasantly surprised that an indian politician who believes in simple

living still exists. In a day and age when politics has become

synonmous to wealth, corruption, and power- where politician...and

even their assistants; flaunt expensive tastes, this sets an outstanding

example. I would think that all "public servants"..MPs included ,

ought to use as little people's resources as possible. Besides, if the

people's money were to be used for the MP's comfort and not be used

for their benefit, what use are they as parliamentarians?

BJP should learn a lession
by Dave on Aug 20, 2004 09:17 PM

Dr Ramakrishna, Greetings !

If BJP would have learnt even something from you, they may not be in

opposition now. And if they would have learnt more from you, they

would have been in full mejority in the Govt as a ruling party, but they

think that if they have to go by scooter only than what is the use to

go into poitics it self, what a shame !

Great regards & admiration 2 U !

Finally some good news.
by Sandeep on Aug 20, 2004 09:16 PM

After reading disappointing news about India's olympic performance, corruption in politics, murders etc. it felt really good to read about Dr. Ramkrishna. I hope he doesn't disappoint us and continues to set a high example for our politicians to follow. Many kudos to him.

well he should be a role model to all other MP's who do nothing but live extravangently. He should be given more media attention so that other MP's atleast feel ashamed.

good example
by rajdheer on Aug 20, 2004 09:01 PM

this is a great example for our MP's.

i remember that once the prime minister of a european country had to find a job once he gave up his post, just like rest of citizens. we should take inspiration from them.

MP with a heart in the right place
by Anil Jha on Aug 20, 2004 08:56 PM

It was touching to know of an MP who is not corrupted by the power given to him by his people. This is what is normally forgotten by our powerful politicians as soon as they reach even the LA. My salute to Dr.Kusumaria. May your kind of persons prosper more than the rest in my land, Bharat.
