Hats off to babaji. He is an example not only for his fellow parliamentarians, but also for a lot of us.there can be hundreds of words written in praise of him,and thousands other criticising the other politicians, which though justified, wud serve no real purpose over here.We should rather try to highlight this issue and ensure that print and electronic media also show to the people this REAL HERO,not the greasepaint ones who seem to hog all the limelight.
Media should highlight this as much as it can so that polished politician even to their benefit start cutting their expenses to have a better public image.Earning a dismal white money and owning BMWs is like having day in the night !!
I use your columns to salute Dr. Ramarishna Kusumaria, Member of Parliament since 1991. I wish our contrymen in general, the MPs and importantly also the (newly getting riched) "NRIs" - abbreviation commonly used for Non-Resident Indians, learn from the simplicity of this educated, cultured man living in such simplicity. It is so unfortunate that that our age old "simple living high thinking" approach to live the actual life is increasing being forgotten by those getting a little power and / or richness. I wish also that i) they all remembered that in majority of the cases their own forefathers were mostly, if not all, were poor simple minded people and ii) they asked themselves also the question "Are they worthy of their poor but principled anscestors, who worked hard to make them (us) of whatever we are today" - perhaps they will either be ASHAMED to admit 'past' facts or pose them (anscestors) also in false glittering light, just to show off. Name & background of Dr Kusumaria should be circulated to each and everyone Indian in India & in the communities of Indians residing in different countries of the world. Once again my deep respect/salutations to him. Dr. Chandra Saksen
Reminds me of old days where my father says MP's used to go around in the city on bicycle!!!! Those were golden days of Indian politics with stalwarts like Lal Bahadur Shastri who died with debt!!!! It really feels gr8 when I see people like this. I see hope and I get confidence that India is going to come out of it's present dirty politics!!!
Let this article be an eyeopener to other MPs. Babaji gets full marks for his modesty and we wish to have more people like him in the parliament. Our wishes with this great personality.
The current politicians should follow the simplicity of Ramakrishna. It gives a message to the politicians that " They are elected to serve the people but not to enjoy the luxorious life". Once again Sluate Doctor
