I for one cannot let Rahul Gandhi pass muster simply because of a terrible alternative. Nor should anyone. As for those terrible alternatives, it's high time they were booted out too. After all, you cannot justify mediocrity by pointing to worse intelligence or achievements. Neither Rahul nor Mr. Advani are good enough for India. There should not be any compromises about it.
Thank you once again for a wonderfully written piece of hate and strategically placed gems to pure fictionYour stories are getting better by the day
Rediff must really be doing really bad in order to get articles churned out by people of Rajeevs caliber these days..Whats the qualification anyway to become a Rediff writer..lots of hate, imagination and a computer ???
Thanks again for wasting everyones timenext time, I request Rediff to put the columnist name along with the fanciful titles they use in order to get people to read articles.I am sure the savings in bandwidth will be appreciated.
The advent of Rahul Gandhi into the Indian political arena smacks of Nepotism. As Mr.Srinivasan rightly pointed out, here is a character who had nothing do with India for over a decade comes back uses his family's influence and tries to make it into politics using his family's name. Luckily for the Indian citizens the Congress is down the chute faster than a meteor and hopefully the electorate will wisen up and reject the latest Gandhi import.
What are his views on the important issues facing India? What is his vision of his country? How much does he know about India? Does he really care?
On one hand, you have people like Rahul who have lead a life of comfort (35 years!!) and never bothered to do anything for their country.
On the other hand, you have people in BJP who dedicated their entire lives for making India a great nation.
Indian voters have to start voting on the merits of people and not on their 'looks' and 'royalness'.
If people vote for Rahul, it will show that Indians have still not come out of their slavish mentality. If they don't, then I can say my countrymen have finally awoken and have the power to make the right choice of leadership
rajeev, the message from the article is pretty clear. gathering from media info it is clear that RG basically does nothing, and why shd he? he is born as a gandhi that entitles him to live on taxpayers money; as a youth he was expected to visit the world to have some fun out of common man's money and so he did, with a touch of harvard to justify his travel.as a middle age man he is expected to be in politics becoz what else can he do!!! after all he is a gandhi and so he has to live up the legacy.... and he is hopefully going to marry a columbian as a tradition started by his father... so chill out. in near future we will have spanish and italian as the two other official languages.. isn't it wonderful. our children will be albe to learn so many languages.. what can one expect in a country with a large percentage being illiterate...
I am surprised how you got a degree from Havard when you don't understand your own country politics. DO you know whats the Degrees for Lalu prasad and rabri devi. And all other dacoits in politics. probably worth an investigation. If you haven't found the right subject yet. please spare Rahul. He can atleast make us all proud that his family has sacrificed there lives for this country and they need to be really stonrg will powered if they still come back to fulfill and continue with what Rajiv and Inidra had deramt for India
