Pleeeease, Dont you think Mr. Dasgupta, that everybody has a limit of patience to read and hear the same stuff again and again and again ..... For god sake, be constructive and pragmatic as a responsible journalist and dont shy away from the truth.
First of all let me clearify, that I and like wise many muslims are against any terror activity being initiated against any living creature on earth. This is basic principles of ISLAM. But at the same time I much strongly feel that any terror activity is developed only when any group of people, community, religion or for any reason people are sidelined and are not given due respect. Say what happened to Punjab, Lankans LTTE, Palestine, Irish, Nepal, Lower caste sects in Indian Hindus and many more.
This is a a very good article. well analysed, unbiased article than the one a couple of days back... "Indians, awake!". Now that the reasons are pretty clear, its the people whose reactions are not strong enough. they have been busy chasing money rather the terror that is rounding them up.
How can Mr. Dasgupta be completely twist the argument that the terrorism is the result of Modi coming to power. The realisty is that in any country when a group of people feel insecure, they will resort to the kind of cowardice practices. The point most of the pople seem to make is that the unfair hand of Modi in Gujarat riots, makes Gujarat a breeding ground of terror. As much as terrorists need to be punished for their acts, people like Modi should be held resoponsible for their deeds too. It is sad that most our country is ruled by those who preach hatred. When people like Mr. Dasgupta is so biased, it is hard to see any bright future for India. It is time everyone stand together against all those who are spreading hatred, be it Modi or those preaching hatred at the madrasas. People like Mr. Dasgupta is also reasong for why our country is this way becasue you only seem to see the hatred spread by moulvis and are completely blind to the hatred spread in the temples and yathras by people like Togadia. Sad indeed!!!
There is a class of writers, Swapan and the like whose voices carry a very visible undertone that seems to indicate that it is the muslims who are the root cause of all the problems. Unfortunately the pseudosecular community in india consisting of political parties, communists and some self proclaimed intellectuals, churns out enough drivel that gives people like swapan, etc lot of valid points to argue with. But the sad part is they tend to generalise it and propagate a point that simply denies that it is possible to live peacefully with muslims. There seems to be a deep rooted hatred (so deep that even they have lost track of it) that is driving this group of people. But no amount of intense arguing citing countless so called proofs to prove their argument, can sideline one fundamental truth, a choice that we have to make. Either we have to find a way to live together or perish altogether. It is when we realise the vivid nature of this choice that may be our way of looking at things will change. That needs a collective war against, fundamentalists of both communities, selfish political leaders and the writers with fluent english that are there on both sides.
Dont try to justify the atrocities done by terrorists in Gujarat after Godhra incident. They are still at large. But dont forget God is always watching.
No matter what, Terrorism in all form should be condemned for a peaceful, safer and happy world.
Everyone in this world has the right for JUSTICE!.
Sure .... But the state sponsored terrorism of the Modi government in Gujrat will sure make some hurt muslims more susceptible to these so called preachers who preach jihad.
i cant think of a happy and satisfied man going into jihad.
where there is injustuce, there is the temptation to strike back at the source.

Okay, but then why are Hindus in Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan also not setting off bombs in Dacca, Karachi and Kabul? You don't think everything is a-okay with them, do you?
In an otherwise good article, the author makes the mistake of saying that the Gujarat riots had not much effect on Muslims. No, the Gujarat riots did affect the Muslims in a big way. It wasn't just the scale and intensity of the riots, but also the indifference shown by most of the common Hindus, that made Muslims feel that noone cares about their fate. In such a situation, people may go to extremes to impress themselves on the country. Greater interaction and love between common Hindus and Muslims is the need of the hour right now. That will, in effect, gain a lot more security for India than any drastic measures by the govt. or the intelligence agencies.
