funny comments by cohen..
by Ramanathan on Sep 01, 2003 05:23 PM

What a statement by Cohen? Are the US not blaming Al
Queda for any damn attack there? Does that mean
Laden has captured America? The comments from
Stephen cohen looks stupid. Americans always
maintain double standards. It is to be agreed that
we cannot blame Pakistan for all the attacks.
However, I guess, in most of the attacks (if not
all), Pakistan would have played an indirect role in
that. Strong local intelligence is ceratinly
required to counter any attack. Also Indian leaders
always follow Britishers (divide and conquer). It
does not matter whether it is BJP or congress.

fight against terrorism
by Gireesh. M. on Sep 01, 2003 05:03 PM

I feel its true watever he stated in his comments. I like to put an example for it. Its a common seen that the policemen deployed in the Railway Station for vigilance is very much busy in talking to fruit & other eatable vendors in the station and getting their hafta from the vendors.

Now its very much necessary our policemen should be educated about their moral duty and responsibility.

Kodus......but the gutsy person is speaking a decade too late.
by Sridhar on Sep 01, 2003 04:42 PM

That was a very realistic interview by an ex-RAW person. His analysis would be correct because he was handling covert operations. But what is the big use saying that now. I believe he would not have been half frank when he was heading the department. These kind of people talk when they are retired and there is no sword hanging on their head. People like him should have spoken boldly when they were in power.
Still if he can inspire few people who make policies and are involved in decision making, that would have a lot of positive change in the country.

Hats off Mr.RAW
by Hari on Sep 01, 2003 04:36 PM

I have heard a lot about our RAW, but this is the first time i have read an interview with a top official of RAW. This is absolutely facinating and what this Ex-RAW officer is speaking is absolutely CORRECT. Our politicians forget one famous saying "When you point one finger, dont forget that four fingers are towards you." Mr.Balachandran has pointed out the exact mistakes what our government makes. Istead of having unnecessary ego problems, our so called great PM and D-PM should immediately take suggestions from people like Mr.Balachandran and implement their suggestions. There is just no big deal in pointing fingers with others, when there are flaws in our system.
I pray to our so called 'Able' leaders of our country to IMMEDIATELY seek these intelligent and able officers guidance and implement the same in establishing a very good security system in the country...
I volunteer to do something, if i can do....
Mera Bharat Mahaan....
